EVE IN HX MAGAZINE; RAPPER/ACTRESS SPEAKS HER MIND ON THOSE GAY RUMORS, HOMOS IN HIP-HOP, GOING 'HOLLYWOOOD' & HER FAILED CLOTHING LINE W/MARC ECKO

Rapper/actress Eve (Jeffers)graces the fall cover of HX magazine. In her candid interview, the self-proclaimed 'pit bull in a skirt' dishes on everything--from those seemingly never-ending gay rumors that have been throwing shade at her reputation for years--to the often times, unspoken truths of not only homophobia & homosexuality within the hip-hop community, but the down low rappers and moguls who are involved in it. The Philly native also spills the beans on why she has so much love for the gay community as well as who she considers to be her girl crush--while also revealing a couple of face-to-face moments with some of the most bold, brazen and aggressive lesbians you'd (probably)never want to meet. Check out a few excerpts from her interview below.

HX MAG: What kind of sound can we expect (on your new album)?
EVE: I didn’t want to do anything too slow or serious, and I didn’t want to do anything that was too much me talking about myself and me coming back in the game and how long it’s been. I wanted to do an album like the ones that make me drive in the car or make me feel good to get dressed to go out to the club— just make my day right. Those are the albums that I listen to, and hopefully that’s the album that I made.

HX MAG: How do you feel about criticism from the hip-hop community that you’ve gone Hollywood?
EVE: I want somebody to give me an actual definition of “Hollywood.” Hollywood always has this negative connotation attached to it. Yeah, I went and did a show in Hollywood [UPN’s Eve], so if that means me going Hollywood—yeah. As far as the negative connotations, I would hope they are not saying it in that way, and if they are, everyone’s entitled to their opinion. I don’t think I have.

HX MAG: You seem more glamorous than ever. How would you describe your current look?
EVE: I guess it is more glamorous and about fashion—I don’t know because I never put a title on myself. I feel like, if anything, it’s just a transition.

HX MAG: Speaking of fashion, what happened to your fashion line, Fetish?
EVE: The last partner I had I was Marc Ecko, and we just didn’t see eye to eye. Instead of going to court, we just decided to let the contract die out. Now I’m with new partners, a group called Signature group, and they’re amazing. We’re relaunching the line this fall, and then we’re doing a big line in the spring, so it looks amazing. I’m so happy with it.

HX MAG: At what point in your career did you know the gay community supported you?
EVE: I feel like they have always supported me from the time I came out. I always felt good if a gay person gave me props. Honestly, I feel like if a gay person gives you props, you must be doing something right. That’s just real, and I always felt like that. I wish I remembered this drag queen’s name…I was in downtown New York and she pulled me to the side and she was like, “Girl, you are hot! Okay? You don’t let nobody tell you different!” I loved it! I was like, “Thank you!” I’m happy I have the support.

HX MAG: Do you get approached a lot by women?
EVE: Yeah, I used to more when I first came out. I’ve had people tell me straight up and down that I was gay—I still get it from people. I get more accusations than I actually do get hit on now.

LISARAYE McCOY MISICK, KENYA MOORE & BLU CAN'T SELL (CANTRELL) STAR IN A CHIT'LIN CIRCUIT STAGEPLAY 'GOSSIP, LIES & SECRETS.' (SEE DATES, CITIES)

She may have had an extravagant Caribbean wedding -- one fit for royalty -- in Turks & Caicos, but that doesn't stop LisaRaye McCoy-Misick from getting down to the nitty gritty when it comes to her work. The 'Player's Club' actress, whose CW sitcom 'All of Us' was recently canceled, is getting back into the swing of things with a lead role in the upcoming chit'lin circuit stageplay 'Angela Dunlap's Gossip, Lies & Secrets.'

Former Miss USA and actress Kenya Moore and one-time platinum-selling R&B singer Blu Cantrell joins McCoy-Misick in a tantalizing tale about three entertainment industry-related women bound by an unspoken commitment to be each other's confidant and best friend. After a string of bad investments, distracting relationships, and dead end writing jobs, authoress Sydney St. Croix (McCoy-Misick) finds herself at the end of her financial rope and needs to round up her "partners in crime." Her solution: call her friends and get together for their ritual "sister girl sessions," where "no holds barred" secrets are revealed and boundaries are crossed. After an evening of sharing intimate and sometimes incriminating confessions and secrets, the ladies renew their weekly pact to "never tell another soul" about what has occurred.All of that is fine and dandy until the ringleader gets her big break after being approached by a major publisher who commissions her to write a novel. It is in that moment of sheer desperation that she makes a plot-twisting decision to save her career by breaking the sacred pact of her friends and divulge her best friends' (one an R&B diva, the other a TV star) innermost secrets... all of them.

The show kicks off Sept. 29 in Newark, New Jersey and will play 15 cities in total before wrapping up in Detroit during Thanksgiving week.'

USHER NEWS: WOMEN'S POLL RESULTS SHOW MARRIAGE (& HIS BITCHING WAYS) HAS HURT HIS IMAGE; IS L.A. REID MANAGING USHER?

In a recent poll taken by the popular women’s website FIERCE411.com, 78% of the respondents claim that the entertainer Usher’s recent wedding drama hurt his image. Usher’s relationship overcame a series of ups and downs as the 28 year old singer prepared to wed 37 year old Tameka Foster. Rumors circulated that the marriage was cancelled and that Foster had faked a pregnancy in order to get the singer to return her calls. To the surprise of Usher’s audience, the two were married on the weekend of August 7th. Prior to the wedding, Usher was reported to have called several prominent radio show hosts to ask them to stop making jokes about his fiancé. Prominent host Tom Joyner claimed that Usher threatened to “whoop my a…” in response to his jokes. Wendy Williams of WBLS and Angela Martinez of Hot 97 were also reported to have received calls from the singer. “Usher’s drama was likely a publicity stunt to get attention for his upcoming album,” says Stacey Gentles, Editor-in-Chief of FIERCE411.com. “But you don’t need to declare holy matrimony in order to promote your album.”

When asked if Usher should have married Tameka Foster, 67% of the respondents either said “Probably not” or “Definitely not”. Additionally, 2/3 of the respondents consider themselves to be Usher fans, though most are not happy with his recent actions.

“The FIERCE411 poll reveals that Usher may have become the Tom Cruise of the black community”, says Dr. Boyce Watkins, Syracuse University Professor and author of “What if George Bush were a Black Man?" “Usher doesn’t want to go to war with gossip columnists and the media, because that can get ugly real fast.”

And in more Usher related news, AOL Blackvoices celebrity news journalist, Jawn Murray, says his inside sources has revealed to him that the singer is now being managed by music mogul Antonio 'LA' Reid.

Now that Reid is apparently representing Usher, whom he has known since signing him to LaFace Records when he was 13-years-old, it makes sense because he has vested interest in the star now and didn't want to be fired like Usher's mom/manager Jonetta Patton. When Patton refused to accept Usher's relationship with former stylist Foster, the singer retaliated by canning her days before Mother's Day. Reid on the other hand, opened up his backyard in The Hamptons for that ill-fated initial ceremony. In addition to Reid, Usher has also brought on über -talent manager Benny Medina (Tyra Banks, Mariah Carey) and NoonTime's Chris Hicks (who is the cousin of Foster's ex-husband Ryan Glover) as consultants.

A rep for Usher denied that Reid is the singer's new manager. "This is totally false," said Usher's rep Patti Webster.

In addition, did you notice how initially all of Usher's exclusives (engagement announcement, pregnancy announcement and wedding information) were given to People magazine? The reason Us Weekly is now getting all of the exclusive updates from the modern day (Nippy)Whitney Houston and (Nappy) Bobby Brown is because People magazine began researching the information being sent over by Usher's camp and realized it wasn't checking out. "Once People discovered that Foster had never checked into St. Vincent's Medical Center in New York and that wasn't the reason the wedding was called off, they questioned Usher's camp on it. Instead of responding, team Usher began offering their exclusives to Us Weekly," said a source close the situation.

You are taking away my shine! I should be on stage, not you!" before being escorted off the premises by Chris's security team...which will probably be the same security team his ol ghetto billy-goat ass fired when he hooked up with TaMonkey...I meant Man-Man, my bad, I meant to say that Old Walking Negro Spiritual...what's her name again?Tameka? Yeah, yeah, that's who I meant. Tameka.
