NEW CHILLI NEWS: SINGER FEATURED IN 'HEART & SOUL' MAGAZINE; HANGS WITH LUDA IN THE ATL; PICS OF SINGER IN TALLAHASSEE.

Chilli also hung out with Luacris last Friday (August 29) at his 'Ludaday Weekend' private dinner at his new restaurant Straits. Chilli's new album, Bi-Polar which originally had a September 2nd release has, needless to say, been pushed back. The singer, who is currently shooting more promo shots (click here) for her album cover, is supposed to announce later on this week which record label her album will be distributed on.

Thanks to ExclusiveAccess.net for the Luda event photos.

For the handful of you Chilli fans who have sent me emails regarding her last visit here in Tallahassee, Florida, I finally have something for you. As promised (back in April), I now have the photos of Chilli's promo stop at Tallahassee's blazing 102.3 radio station with J. Blaze on Wednesday, April 16th, as well as her attending TJDJ's Tastemakers Only DJ/Music Conference with TJ Chapman at The Moon that night where she spent most of the night meeting fans, taking pictures and signing autographs. Better late than never, right. If not, oh well. Just joking. Peep the pics below.

Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas, the 'sexy' component in best-selling girl group TLC is featured in this month's issue of Heart & Soul magazine to dish details on her workout regimen. The singer turned 37 years old earlier this year, but the only way you'd know it is by looking at her birth certificate. And while she admits she has to actually work to keep weight on her 5 foot, 100 pound frame, Thomas insists she strives to daily to stay healthy, particularly after discovering she has acid reflux. "I'm pretty much the weight that I am, but I work out because we all should. it's healthy for you, it helps relieve stress and it's good for your heart." Chilli hikes, runs, walks and uses free weights (peep TLC's 1993 throwback video Hat 2 Da Back and you'll know what I'm talking about) to keep muscle mass on her naturally slim and shapely physique. She's adjusted to acid reflux by eliminating citrus fruits that burn her stomach and adding raw vegetables, plenty of water, soy milk and mostly organic foods to her diet. Chilli cooks and bakes, and when she does, she uses organic cane sugar for her cobblers and sweet potato pies. Daily prayer and plenty of sleep round out her beauty regimen. "You have to be disciplined. People say they don't eat right because they don't have organic foods at their grocery store or it costs too much. But if it adds 10 or 15 years to your life, it's worth the extra drive and extra penny."

TALLAHASSEE RESIDENTS: CHECK OUT CHILLI TONIGHT @ THE MOON (10 PM-2 AM); ALSO DISHES UP AN LIVE IN-STUDIO INTERVIEW W/ TALLAHASSEE'S BLAZIN' 102.3.

For all you Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas fans, during a live in-studio interview with J.Blaze on Tallahassee's Blazin' 102.3 radio station (shout out to my sister Dree waking me up at of my sleep to let me know she was here!), the singer made an announcement stating that would be making an appearance at College Night at The Moon (located on Lafayette Street) tonight from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. If you read my girl Necole Bitchie's interview last week with the pretty and petite Southern Belle, then you know she revealed more than what folks bargained for. Subsequently, during her interview with J.Blaze, Chilli dished a tad bit more details about her personal life as well as her music. You may be surprised by what you see below in the snippets I took from her interview:

  • Although she didn't mention Blaque's new reality show Blaque in the House, she did say she and T-Boz are working on television projects together as well as on each other's solo albums.
  • She's still working on her solo album with help from Missy, Akon and T-Boz; although Tallahassee's own T-Pain (who she considers an 'amazing guy') wrote on her album, he will not be featured on any song on her debut cd.
  • Dallas Austin, with whom she shares a son will not produce on her album. Chilli said that although they are 'cool with each other', she doesn't like blending her personal life with her professional ventures.
  • When asked about Dallas' imprisonment on alleged drug charges in Dubai a couple of years ago, Chillii stated that Dallas never said that he had been jailed. Folks just made speculations that he was behind bars.
  • When asked about what was different from going from being a group member to going solo, Chilli said the only difference is that she doesn't have to get approval or run anything by anyone else. This time around, if there's something she wants to do, all she has to do is tell her 'people.'
  • Says she was the 'dumb, dumb, dumb' one for letting Marlon get away.
  • She considers Dumb, Dumb, Dumb the 2008 version of No Scrubs.
  • She has anointed herself as 'Supermom' and giggled a bit when folks in the studio teased her about having his picture on her purse.
  • Recently parted ways with TLC manager Bill Diggins over money issues. It must've been something serious because Chilli says ol' dude packed up his wife and kids and left the country. So, I'm thinking TLC weren't the only clients he screwed over. And for those of yall wondering, yes, the ladies of TLC finances are straight. LOL!
  • Here's the kicker: when asked if she would ever take Usher back Chilli just giggled and said, 'I'm not answering that.' She gave the same answer when the dj asked her if she would accept Usher's phone call if he decided to dial her up. The only difference with the second question is she paused before answering once again, 'I'm not answering that.'
  • After hearing the dj refer to Usher as 'dumb, dumb, dumb' before slapping on his Confessions track, Chilli once again just.....giggled.
  • When questioned about her relationship status, after she'd already stated that she was single, Chilli quickly pulled attention back onto her new single, Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

So again, all of you fellas, fans, groupies and stans who want to see Chilli live in person, the place to be is The Moon from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. And for those doubters out there, if you listen to 102.3's live stream, you'll hear them promoting her Moon appearance.

I'm telling yall right now, Chilli is dead serious about launching her music career. I can say this now with a bit of hope because I remember her announcing she wanted to do her solo thing waaaaaaaaaaay back when she first hooked up with Usher but placed it on the back burner to record what would be TLC's last studio album. And now seven years later, after more than a couple of hit and misses, she is finally about to make things happen for herself as a solo artist. What's even better is she's launching her new music right before Usher's fourth album drops next month. Now that's what you call promoting your sh!t. And who could blame her? If it looks like she wants to milk their past relationship in order to jumpstart her solo career, more power to her. Hell he did it...and ended up with a diamond certified album. He knew that album wasn't about their break-up and yet he exploited their relationship and used it to his advantage to sell millions of records. If anything, he should've cut her a check! LOL!

RANDOM CELEB PIC: JOHNNY GILL & BOBBY BROWN IN CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.

Well, here's a rare photo (click on photo to see its full image). R&B stars Bobby Brown and Johnny Gill team up during a recent sold-out concert at the Arie Crown Theater in Chicago, Illinois. Brown got his start with the most influential boy-band in music history, New Edition. Gill is still a member of the group, which continues to tour worldwide. 'Continues to tour worldwide'?!! You mean to tell me these dudes are still performing, worldwide, and they still ain't made it back to Tallahassee, Florida?! I guess Johnny forgot about his lil solo trip to the Leon County Civic Center back in May of 2006 where he promised me the audience that he would make sure that he and the rest of the guys would return to the Capital City to appease their fans. That was nearly two years ago Johnny! First I was hurt. Now, I'm madder than Bobby in the last empty liquor store in town. Tallahassee ain't seen New Edition in concert since February 11, 1987. We were good to yall and showed yall lots of love. My best friend Kamika even fainted in order to get herself backstage to see yall...well, specifically her favorite: Ronnie. Unfortunately for her, the only person she was able to lay her eyes on was Bobby Brown! I was mad enough for the both of us. LOL!

Do your part, JG. Do your part.

NEW PICS FROM LOCAL TALLAHASSEE CELEBRITY, DJ DEMP'S 'DEMP WEEK RELOADED'

T-Pain isn't the only local award-winning celebrity in Tallahassee doing big things in the entertainment industry. Celebrity events from the 11th annual Demp Week bombarded Tallahassee, Florida last week (January 7-13). Demp Week is a week-long birthday celebration which was created in 1997 by Tallahassee native and celebrity tour DJ, DJ Demp (or as I call him, Darnell ...cause that's what his mama named him and that's the only name I've known him as). "Demp Week is a chance for everyone to get together and just relax and kick back and celebrate my birthday with me," said DJ Demp.

During Demp Week, parties were thrown Monday through Sunday, and each night held a new theme to celebrate DJ Demp's birthday. Events included: Game Night at Pockets Sports Pub; a campus 'On Da Set' invasion on FAMU's campus (my fellow Rattlers--as well as others--old and new, know all about the 'Set'!); a 'Who's Who Party' at The Moon nightclub featuring celebrity guests Rick Ross, Yung Joc, I Love New York 2's Midget Mac and Trick Daddy; 'The Ultimate Demp Week Fashion Show' hosted by rapper Ja Rule and featuring FAMU's Epicurean, Faces and Images modeling troupes followed by an after party at Baja's Beach Club. Demp Week wrapped with the Demp Comedy Jam at The Moon featuring comedian/actor Alex Thomas, comedian Lil Duval, and Miami DJ/comedian Benji Brown.

Below, you'll find pictures taken from several Demp Week events such as the fashion show with Ja Rule, the campus invasion on FAMU's 'Set' featuring cast members from BET's Colege Hill: Virgin Islands and BET's College Interns reality shows and the 'Who's Who Party' at The Moon. And let me warn you right now that you will come across several or more random pics of true and utter madness! Trust.

AFTER THE JUMP VIEW MORE PICS FROM 'DEMP WEEK' & FIND OUT HOW DJ DEMP GOT TO WHERE HE IS TODAY & MUCH MORE!

Before finishing high school, Demp began making a name after creating Demp Productions. Soon after, he began spinning records at house parties and producing mix cds. His popularity and dj'ing services went into overdrive once his mix tapes got into the hands of the college crowds (specifically black fraternities and sororities) at F.A.M.U. and F.S.U., garnering the pint-size dj an entire new fan base. In 1996, dude 'went Hollywood'(that's small town talk for making it big) once he began touring with the Ghost Town DJs to promote one of the biggest summertime record of '96, My Boo (peep the video below). While on the road fulfilling his duties as Uncle Luke's official dj, Demp made it his mission to network and maintain contacts with other celebs. And it eventually paid off. By the time 1997 rolled in, Demp decided celebrating his birthday (January 9) one day a year wasn't the business. Subsequently, he gathered his celebrity contacts and other resources and commenced to planning a week full of events to celebrate his bornday. And there you have it: Demp Week was born and in full effect. Celebrities such as LisaRaye, Juvenile, So So Def, Nappy Roots, Twista, Ja Rule, Rick Ross, Trina, the And1 Mixtape ballers, Crime Mob, Field Mob, Cash Money and more (I just don't feel like looking all that shit up at the moment) have all shown their support to the Talley Ho dj.

To this day, Demp (who was recently nominated as DJ of the Year by the Radio One Dirty Awards and honored with the prestigious TJ's DJ's Tastemakers Award) continues to tour and spin records at the hottest celeb parties throughout Florida and beyond. But don't get it twisted though, Demp's an equal opportunity celeb dj. He not only spins records for rap artists, he also tweak the turntables for pro ball celebrities such as Clinton Portis of the Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders' player Randy Moss.
