...meanwhile Nicole Mitchell, Murphy's ex-wife (their divorce was finalized in 2006) and mother of five of his seven kids was lensed as she and her boyfriend and NFL player Michael Strahan attended the 2008 Kentucky Derby race last weekend and the Sports Museum of America opening night gala on Tuesday night. Word around the web is she and Strahan could be heading down the aisle again. Mitchell has been dating the New York Giants Super Bowl champion since 2007, and Strahan confesses he may propose soon - despite still recovering from a messy and expensive divorce battle with ex-wife Jean which ended just months before he hooked up with Nicole. Strahan told the New York Daily News, "We love each other. We enjoy each other. I would not shy away from (marriage). But you still have to ask, and they have to say 'yes'. I don't even know if she loves me that much."

EDDIE MURPHY & TRACEY EDMONDS MARRIAGE DEEMED INVALID IN BORA BORA; COUPLE TO WED AGAIN IN THE U.S.

'Spiritual' newlyweds Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds will marry for a second time in a legal ceremony when they return to America. The couple wed on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia in front of 25 friends and family on Tuesday (01Jan08). As that ceremony carries no legal significance in the United States, Murphy and Edmonds will enjoy a second wedding on their return home. General law specialist in French Polynesia, Malgras Benoit, confirmed reports that Murphy and his 40-year-old fiancee Tracey Edmonds were ineligible to be married locally because they had not lived in the region for long enough. Under French law people wishing to marry must reside near where the ceremony is to take place for at least 30 days before they can legally tie the knot. The couple reportedly arrived in French Polynesia by private jet last weekend and were married on new year's day on a small islet near Bora Bora Island, a playground for wealthy tourists.

Benoit said the details indicated the wedding could not be recognized under French law. "A marriage on the beach would be like... a fake marriage. It's not a real marriage, if it is on the beach with only a local priest. I think it was just an exotic, artistic 'marriage'," he said. "You need to have residence for at least 30 days - one month in the island of Bora Bora for instance - and this has not been the case," Benoit said.

Edmonds' spokesperson tells People.com, "As is typical when couples get married in foreign countries, a legal ceremony will take place when they return to the U.S. The wedding that took place in Bora Bora was a ceremony to bind Eddie and Tracey spiritually in the presence of family and friends. The couple plan a legal ceremony as soon as they return to the States."

Murphy and Edmonds, who have been dating since 2006, have both been married before - Murphy divorced Nicole Mitchell in April 2006, while Edmonds ended her marriage to music mogul Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds in October 2005.

REAL OR RUMOR: LISARAYE'S HUBBY RECENTLY SPOTTED CANOODLING WITH EDDIE'S EX-WIFE, NICOLE

First of all, excuse me for being so late with today's top celeb news stories. The beginning of FAMU's homecoming week has started and there's a plethora of activities and events taking place...and with me being a true, through-and-through Rattler, I intend on attending most of this week's activities...but I also intend on keeping this blog updated as much as possible because hey, even though I heart FAMU with a passion, I heart my blog even more. Just wanted to make that clear to everybody! LOL!

Anyhoo, according to the New York Daily News, LisaRaye McCoy-Misick's husband, Turks and Caicos premier Michael Misick, attended the opening of the Mediterranean Village at Sandals' Grande Antigua resort with none other than Nicole Murphy, the ex-wife of film star Eddie Murphy.

McCoy-Misick and Michael are one of the more glamorous couples you could meet. He is the premier of Turks and Caicos, and she, an American actress from TV's All of Us, is the country's First Lady. A month ago, he feted her with a gala 41st- birthday party, attended by celebrities including their mutual friend, Nicole (the ex-Mrs. Eddie) Murphy. But the following weekend, it was Misick and Murphy who were thisclose at the opening of the Mediterranean Village at Sandals' Grande Antigua resort. Mrs. Misick did not attend. Our spies say the premier's bodyguard made sure there were no photos taken of the two. And he did a great job: neither WireImage, the event's official photographer, nor Access Hollywood, who did a segment on the launch, mentioned either of them being there.

But other guests said the pair seemed especially chummy on Friday, Oct. 5, during a party at the Cricketer's Arms, a pub on the property. And some folks started whispering when friendly kisses were exchanged. "It's funny - if you didn't know better, you would have thought they were together," says a source on the island. Misick's office referred us to a spokeswoman, who did not comment (other than to ask if we had a picture).

But the premier and his wife have seemed very much the happy couple at public events since that weekend, including the Turks and Caicos International Film Festival last week. LisaRaye said through a rep: "Nicole is a good friend, and she and Michael were both there for an event but not together."
