LAILA ALI & HUBBY SHOW OFF THEIR NEW BUNDLE OF JOY.

The beautiful Laila Ali and her handsome husband Curtis Conway gave OK! magazine exclusive first photos of their 5-week-old baby boy Curtis Muhammad. Laila and her hubby talk about the planned homebirth of their son, what went wrong and who the baby resembles the most in tomorrow's issue of the magazine. Below are some excerpts from the interview:

"You can plan all you want, but things happen." That's Laila Ali's new outlook after the planned homebirth of her son, 5-week-old Curtis Muhammad took an unexpected turn in her 39th week of pregnancy. "The doctor thought that the baby might have a growth restriction," Laila explains. "Sometimes, when the baby is not getting enough nutrients, the abdomen will be smaller because the organs aren't really needed yet, but the head and legs will keep growing. When I got to 39 weeks, they [wanted him out] because he wasn't getting 100 percent of his nutrients." For Laila, who wanted a natural birth, the change in plans was difficult to wrap her mind around. After the complication ended in a hospital admittance for a scheduled induction -- "That was hard too, because I didn't want to be induced" -- Curtis Jr. entered the world on August 26th, after a 15-hour labor. "Curtis [Conway] caught him. He was able to pull the baby out. He cut the umbilical cord. They gave Curtis Jr. to me. It's important for the baby to bond with the mother in the first moments. I started crying immediately."

Curtis Jr. "seems a little feisty," Laila, 30, reveals. "He looks like a mix between his father and I. I wanted him to look like his dad!" The former boxer has quickly adjusted to motherhood, even giving Curtis -- already father to three children from a previous marriage -- diaper-changing lessons. When it's brought up that her husband is most likely quite comfortable with diapers already, Laila cracks, "Just because you've done it before doesn't mean you're doing it the way I want you to do it!"

NICOLE RICHIE'S PEOPLE MAG COVER SALES SLAUGHTERS CHRISTINA AGUILERA SALES.

According to MSNBC's The Scoop, Nicole Richie didn’t just beat rival Christina Aguilera to the delivery room by having daughter Harlow on Jan. 11, one day before Aguilera gave birth to son Max, but it appears Richie will beat Aguilera on the newsstand as well. Both new moms each had their own cover of People magazine, and according to some early estimates, the issue featuring Richie is on target to sell more than 1.8 million copies, according to an industry source, whereas Aguilera's has sold far less. (People magazine could not confirm sales numbers; a spokesperson said its too soon to know how many copies were sold.) Why does there seem to be more interest in Harlow Winter Kate Madden? One magazine insider said part of it could come down to the moms’ fan bases. “Christina historically doesn’t do that well on covers,” said the source, who cites poor sales of her wedding photo issue in OK!, and less-than-stellar sales of her nude photo shoot in the January 2008 Marie Claire.

That might be true, but Nicole Richie doesn’t seem like an obvious home run on the cover, either. “There’s also a greater element of curiosity with Nicole,” the source conceded. “She’s gone public about being a heroin addict. Her boyfriend is covered in tattoos. By default, she’s got the more interesting baby. People want to see how she settles down. They want to see what kind of baby someone with her background has.”

NEW PICS: MONICA & HER 2 SONS, RODNEY & ROMELO HILL

It's truly a small world. Just last night, my best friend, Meek had I were sitting around my house chilling when she asked me if Monica had had her baby yet. I told her yes, she gave birth earlier this month. Of course she asked me if I'd come across any pictures, After I told her, 'No, I haven't seen any pictures yet, but what I do know is that Monica named her son, Romelo. Being the always mindful person that she is, Meek quickly reminded me that the name Romelo is akin to the name of an original member of Atlanta's 90s boy band, ABC (Another Bad Creation). I brushed it off and told her as soon as I came across any pictures, I'd post them. Well, during my search I found out that there's a possible reason as to why Monica chose to name her son Romelo (aside from the fact that the name also starts with the letter 'R'...her son's first name is Rodney).

Anywhoo, Romell, a.k.a. RoRo is the ABC bandmember whose name is similar to Monica's son's name. 'Ro-Ro' is also related to Dallas Austin who Monica has always referred to as her big brother. So, I'm thinking maybe Monica opted to keep the name in the family. BTW, Romelo's middle name is Montez...which also happens to be the first name of Monica's brother. Go figure, right? Oh, and please don't quote me on this! I just put two and two together in my own way and came up with this possible assumption.
