MADEA TO RETURN TO THE BIG SCREEN TWICE IN '08 IN 'MADEA GOES TO JAIL' & 'MEET THE BROWNS' + RECENT PICS OF LAMMAN, TASHA & KEESHA

Tyler Perry has signed on for films No. 6 and 7 under his expansive deal with Lionsgate. The filmmaker will direct and star as wisecracking, gun-toting grandma Madea again in a big screen version of his popular stage play Madea Goes to Jail, which chronicles a series of events that occur after Madea spends a night in jail (the movie is slated for release in 2008, according to Perry's official website). Perry will also write, direct and star in his new original screenplay, The Family That Preys Together.

"An artist couldn't ask for a better home than Lionsgate; they're respectful, supportive and loyal to a fault," said Perry. "They've given me room to tell the stories I want to tell, the way I want to tell them. And I'm gratified and humbled that audiences have responded with such enthusiasm and love." The two films come on the heels of his latest box office success, Why Did I Get Married, which starred Janet Jackson among the ensemble cast opened at No. 1 at the boxoffice last month with $21.4 million. Budgeted at about $10 million, it has earned $53 million to date.

Perry's next film, an adaptation of his stage play Meet the Browns, will arrive in theaters on March 21 starring Perry (who takes on a dual role as Madea and Uncle Joe), Angela Bassett, David and Tamela Mann, Rick Fox, Jennifer Lewis, Irma P. Hall, Denise Boutte and Lamman Rucker (who happens to play a gynecologist).

Speaking of Lamman, I found (isn't it ironic how you always find something useful when you're not even looking for it?!) several pictures of him, Keesha Sharp, Tasha Smith and Boutte promoting Why Did I Get Married? during a meet-and-greet with fans at The Los Angeles Black Business Expo back in September. That's after the jump!

Anywhoo, Meet the Browns revolves around a single mother, named Brenda (played by Angela Bassett) who lives in inner city Chicago, struggling to make ends meet and keep her three kids off the street. But when she's laid off with no warning, she starts losing hope for the first time -- until a letter arrives announcing the death of a father she's never met. Desperate for any kind of help, Brenda takes her family to Georgia for the funeral. But nothing could have prepared her for the Browns, her father's fun-loving, crass Southern clan. In a small-town world full of long afternoons and country fairs, Brenda struggles to get to know the family she never knew existed ... and finds a brand new romance that just might change her life.”

IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME! LAMMAN RUCKER IS FINALLY CONSIDERED AS A TRUE HOLLYWOOD HEAVYWEIGHT.

The Internet buzz in chatrooms and on various messageboards regarding Lamman Rucker's performance in Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? is bananas right about now! Didn't I tell yall last week that Lamman Rucker's career would soar to new and greater heights something proper-like once folks took notice of him in Why Did I Get Married?. And here's the gotcha: I said all of that BEFORE I even saw the movie! (Check out the following link) That is what I said, right?. Yeah, I surely did. Can someone please pat me on my back and give me my propers? LOL!

I knew it was just a matter of time before he'd land a role that would really make people recognize how much of a compassionate, skilled actor he really is. As modest and humble as he is, even Rucker (who holds two bachelor degrees: one in Information Technology and one in Drama/Theater, as well as an MBA in Education) has faced the fact that his presence in W.D.I.G.M.? signals his arrival as a true Hollywood heavyweight. Yes, it does, Lamman, yes it does.

Although the Pittsburg, Pennsylvania native's honed acting skills and GQ-ish good looks played a big factor in his perfect portrayal as 'Troy', the ex-Wall Street stockbroker who falls in love with 'Sheila' (played by Jill Scott) in this film, I still feel it's more than appropriate to give thanks to Tyler Perry for letting the rest of the world witness what Rucker's true fans have known for so very long. Thank you ever so kindly!

And don't fret ladies (although you just might once you read the details regarding Rucker's personal life after the jump). Like I said before, this will not be the last time we will see Rucker on the big screen...or even the small screen for that matter. Coincidentally, the up-and-coming actor has teamed up with Perry once again and will star in the big screen adaptation of Meet the Browns, which is loosely based on the stage play of the same title. Angela Bassett, Rick Fox, Irma P. Hall and Rucker's Why Did I Get Married? castmate, Denise Boutte also star in the film which was filmed mostly in Atlanta, Georgia, and is scheduled to hit theaters in 2008. And if that doesn't satisfy your thirst for the 30-something year-old actor, Rucker, along with Boutte, will also star in the sitcom version of Meet the Browns, which has been dubbed as Perry's next 'highly anticipated' series. According to Boutte, 10 episodes have already been filmed; however, it's still unclear which network will pick up and air the series.

So, yes, I can definitely see his resume becoming increasingly long in the next couple of years. Bless his heart. His life is about to change in ways he probably never imagined. And that's real talk.

AFTER THE JUMP YOU CAN VIEW LAMMAN'S ACTING REEL, FIND OUT HOW HE SPENDS HIS QUALITY TIME AND WITH WHOM, PLUS DETAILS ON HIS RELATIONSHIP STATUS.

But don't get it twisted, people. This man, who starred in BET's 2006 award-winning short film on HIV/AIDS entitled Let's Talk, is more than just a savory piece of on-screen eye candy. Rucker loves the kids too. So much so that he spends his quality time mentoring and educating children in his community on AIDS/HIV awareness and prevention.

Fine, tall, ruggedly handsome, intelligent (you gotta love that), well-spoken, modest, humble, beautiful smile, adorable dimples, no kids...which means no baby mama drama, family-oriented, approachable, kind and committed...to someone else. It hurts, doesn't it? Yeah, I know. Hell, I had a dream about him the other night...and guess what? Even in my dream he didn't want me! Now, that's commitment like no other, right?! But hey, if he wasn't involved with someone than I'd be really worried. LOL! An anonymous* source whose close to the actor tells me that he has been in an on-again/off-again relationship with a special woman (and no, it's not Jill Scott as some recent rumors have suggested) for some time now. Lucky heffah! I'm kidding....sort of. :)

My grandmother, bless her soul, would slap a pint of piss out of me if she heard me say what I'm about to say; so, please forgive me if I come across as sounding a bit un-Southern-lady-like when I say I can also see Rucker getting more ass than a toilet seat That's if he ain't already getting it! Trust. I'm about to change my name to Tidy Bowl or sumthin'. Just jokes, yall! Well, not really. Okay, just a little bit of alot, but not too, too much. Sort of like an iota of a little bit...well, not iota exactly. Mediocre? Whatever!

Therefore and thus and such, in closing, please let the records show that it was the person (that would be me) behind RealGossip 101 who had/has no problem whatsoever with continuing to support Mr. Rucker unconditionally throughout any of his future endeavors. Thank you very much.

*in all fairness, if for any reason my anonymous source has been proven to be incorrect with the information which was given to me, once the correct information is confirmed to me by a verifiable source is when I will promptly retract my statement.

Before you go, don't forget to check out Lamman's actig reel.

TYLER PERRY'S 'WHY DID I GET MARRIED?' CLAIMS THE #1 SPOT AT THE BOX OFFICE.

Was there ever any question that Tyler Perry's 'Why Did I Get Married?' would claim the top spot in this weekend's box office sales?! Just think how higher that number would have been if the film was shown in more theater screens across the country! And can I say that I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that the actors and actresses--whether they're A-list or not--who passed up the golden opportunity to be a part of this film are probably either spitting fire, hating or congratulating right about now!

Academy Awards heavyweights such as George Clooney and Cate Blanchett were no match for another of Tyler Perry's populist tales. The Lionsgate release "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?", a marital yarn whose ensemble cast includes Janet Jackson, Malik Yoba, Jill Scott and writer-director Perry, debuted as the No. 1 weekend movie with $21.5 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. Perry's flick came in well ahead of Clooney's legal drama "Michael Clayton," Blanchett's historical pageant "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," and Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg's crime saga "We Own the Night," which all pulled in modest crowds. Though "Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls" had a so-so opening earlier this year, "Why Did I Get Married?" joined his previous hits "Madea's Family Reunion" and "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," which also opened at No. 1.

"Why Did I Get Married?" follows the domestic trials of couples re-evaluating their relationships during an annual reunion.

"Tyler Perry is a mogul," said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Media By Numbers. "There is a built-in audience base for Tyler Perry's movies, no matter what time of year, no matter what the subject matter."

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Media By Numbers LLC. Final figures will be released Monday.

1. "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?", $21.5 million.
2. "The Game Plan," $11.5 million.
3. "Michael Clayton," $11.01 million.
4. "We Own the Night," $11 million.
5. "The Heartbreak Kid" $7.4 million.
6. "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," $6.2 million.
7. "The Kingdom" $4.6 million.
8. "Across the Universe," $4 million.
9. "Resident Evil: Extinction," $2.65 million.
10. "The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising," $2.15 million.

VIDEO: JANET JACKSON & TYLER PERRY IN 'WHEN LIVE INTERVIEWS GO WRONG.'

Can anyone explain to me what does Janet's Superbowl debacle from 3 years ago have to do with her promoting a movie? I mean, really, because it seems like some people (especially in the media) are hell bent on making sure Janet never lives down what had to be the most embarrassing moment of her life.

It all started Thursday morning (October 11) when Jackson and Tyler Perry conducted a live interview on the CW 13's Good Day morning show in Sacramento, California to promote Tyler's latest movie, Why Did I Get Married?. However, the interview took a disrespectful turn for the worse when the smart-ass reporter suddenly asked Janet about that infamous 'wardrobe malfunction' during her half-time performance at the 2004 Superbowl. Janet, being her usual coy and demure self, just sat there with a contrived 'smile' on her face until Perry came to her rescue.

Therefore and thus and such, let me take this time to dole out a bucket full of kudos and props to Perry for being the professional, quick-witted, gentleman that he is.

..And another thing...let me find out those village idiots continued to talk about Janet's 'mishap' after the interview was over. In the words of Madea, 'Sat down somwhere!'

LAMMAN RUCKER's CAREER IS ABOUT TO ENTER A NEW PLATEAU

Alright everybody listen up! I'm going to go ahead and put this out in the cyber-universe (and beyond if need be) AND I'm only going to say this one time...and one time only. Well, don't quote me on that...cause nine times out of ten, after I actually see the movie, chances are I'll say it again. But I especially want to address it tonight...so here it is: up until now, many may remember Lamman Rucker (CLICK HERE TO READ MORE NEWS ON LAMMAN RUCKER ON BLACKCELEBRITYMEN.BLOGSPOT.COM!) displaying his superb acting skills from his previous, mediocre television roles in As the World Turns, All My Children, Law & Order, All of Us as well as Half & Half), nothing really big. But lately I've been getting this vibe from him...and it's a good one, too. But seriously though, after this movie is released and it blowuptuates, expect to see Lamman get his Hollywood shine on!

From my understanding, Rucker currently filming (or has either wrapped up) a big screen adaptation loosely based on Perry's stage play, Meet the Browns alongside his Why Did I Get Married? co-star Denise Boutte. Angela Bassett, Rick Fox, and Irma P. Hall also star in the film which is scheduled to be released in theaters in 2008. As if that wasn't enough, Rucker and Boutte will also star in the sitcom series of the same title, which is still in production, according to imdb.com. So, yes, I see his resume becoming increasingly long in the next couple of years. And that's real talk.

Without sounding too un-Southern-lady-like, I can also see him getting more ass than a toilet seat! That's if he ain't already getting it! Trust. I'm about to change my name to Tidy Bowl or sumthin'. Just jokes, yall! Well, not really. Okay, just a little bit of alot, but not too, too much. Sort of like an iota of a little bit...well, not iota exactly. Mediocre? Whatever! Yall know what I'm trying to say!
