MYSTIKAL'S BID FOR EARLY RELEASE REJECTED; RAPPER TO REMAIN IN PRISON UNTIL 2010.

According to Allhiphop.com, incarcerated rapper Mystikal's hopes for an early release from prison have been dashed by a Louisiana parole board. The Shake That Ass hitmaker, real name Michael Tyler, was sentenced to serve six years at a prison in Homer following his 2003 conviction for sexual battery and extortion. He was found guilty of forcing his then-hairstylist to perform oral sex on him as he videotaped the incident after the female employee allegedly stole $80,000 from him. Mystikal recently applied for an early release, but that has been turned down.

The hip-hop star is staying positive about his career setback, however, and is reportedly putting his time behind bars to good use. A source tells AllHipHop.com, "Mystikal is in great spirits, despite the parole board's decision not to release him. He's been writing and focused on his career once he is finally released."

Mystikal is now likely to remain in prison until 2010.

WHITNEY HOUSTON TO PERFORM HER LIVE COMEBACK IN LONDON IN MAY (2008).

Whitney 'Nippy' Houston is set to make her live comeback in London in May. Organizers of the Caudwell Children's Legend Ball in Battersea have revealed they've booked the diva for a charity show. Charity founder John Caudwell tells Britain's Marie Claire magazine, "We are thrilled to have an artist of Whitney's calibre to headline the event." The comeback concert isn't a big surprise - Tina Turner came out of retirement to perform at the charity's 2007 gala, which helped Caudwell raise over $2 million for disabled children.

In related news, successful music mogul and Houston's longtime mentor, Clive Davis, says Houston will release her long-awaited and much-anticipated comeback album in time for Christmas. Davis has recorded five new tracks with the singer and he's delighted with the album's progress, saying, "It's really good. We're looking to release the album in November."

LIL WAYNE ON WHY HE'LL NEVER STOP SIPPING SYRUP: 'IT AIN'T THAT EASY...LET ME DO ME.'

Lil Wayne is popping off at folks who have an issue with him and the syrupy narcotic beverage he holds in his ever present Styrofoam cup. The rapper who spit, "I like my Sprite Easter-pink," on DJ Khaled's We Takin' Over and declared "weed and syrup till I die" on Playaz Circle's Duffle Bag Boy, recently explained during a concert in Newark, New Jersey, that sipping syrup — a combination made up chiefly of promethazine and codeine, which is supposed to be prescribed by doctors for severe colds and pneumonia — is a part of the culture in the South. He also talked about how he gets flak for it. Wayne has said he's been hearing about how he needs to cut back on syrup more than ever in the wake of Pimp C's death in December. The UGK member's death was ruled accidental and due to a deadly combination of syrup— also known as "lean," "Texas tea" and "drank" — and his sleep-apnea condition. Weezy said he can't just quit cold turkey.

"I've been criticized for the things I chose and things I've chosen to do. Everybody wants me to stop all this and all that. It ain't that easy. Do your history, do your research. Will Michael Jackson have to depend on his baby sister, Janet, to shell out over $24 million in order to save his Neverland Ranch? The way things are looking for the first family of music, she seems to be the only Jackson left with hundreds of millions of dollars in her bank account. Anywhoo, on Monday, Jackson was informed that his Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara will be sold at public auction on March 19 unless he can come up with $24,525,906.61 to pay off the loan. "It's not just the house either," wrote Fox411's Roger Friedman in his Tuesday column. "When Neverland is auctioned, it will include everything: all personal property inside, all fixtures and appliances, furniture, and 'all merry go round type devices,' any rides, games. The auction literally includes every single thing that is or isn't nailed down."

According to Friedman, the King of Pop refinanced his $300 million loan from Fortress Investments with help from Sony Music, HSBC and Barclays Bank. But, the Neverland loan was not part of that deal. "Fortress would clearly like to get out of the Jackson business altogether now, so selling at auction is their answer," Friedman wrote.

The hip-hop and fashion mogul, who became a father to twins last year, was delighted to hear the news that Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony had become parents to a boy and a girl on Friday, and now he's hoping to play their fashion godfather. Diddy says, "I'm going to send her some baby clothes from my Sean John line. I'm so happy for her. It's such a blessing." KANYE'S COUSIN PROPOSES NEW LAW IN HONOR OF HIS MOTHER, DR. DONDA WEST.

The death of Kanye West's mother, Dr. Donda West, might not have been in vain after all. A California Assemblywoman is seeking to pass a new law that would require patients to have medical clearance from a licensed doctor before undergoing plastic surgery. According to the Daily Bulletin, Yolanda Anderson, Donda West's niece, reached out to California State Assemblywoman Wilmer Amina Carter, who introduced the "Donda West Law" on Friday, February 22. Donda West, 58, died Nov. 10, 2007, of complications after an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and breast reduction by a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon. A news release from Carter's office stated that Donda West did not heed medical advice from another plastic surgeon to get a clearance because of a pre-existing medical condition. The coroner's report in January was inconclusive about the cause of death.

Paramount for Anderson is making sure plastic surgery is safe for the next person, she said. "After we got back from her funeral, I decided to do something about it," Anderson said. "It became a passion for me." According to Anderson, Kanye is supporting the cause and has offered to help in any way that he can. “Kanye is ecstatic and very grateful,” said Anderson. “He said, `You started this. Now run with it and let me know how I can help.”

SEAN 'DIDDY' COMBS PUTS HIS LOVE LIFE ASIDE TO BECOME A MORE SERIOUS THESPIAN.

Media mogul-turned-Broadway actor, Sean 'Diddy' Combs has put his love life on hold while he chases his dream of making it in Hollywood. Combs has abandoned his New York home to set up base in Los Angeles while he tries to make a success of his fledgling acting career. And, despite splitting with longterm love Kim Porter last year (2007), Combs insists he has no interest in finding a new lady. The star tells the New York Daily News, "I'm 100 per cent single right now. I'm working on myself right now, personally and artistically. It's a huge responsibility just being a good boyfriend, and I want to get myself right first before I jump over a broom."

Combs also reverted to his meager upbringing in order to prepare for his role in his tv movie, A Raisin In the Sun, which is airing as you are reading this article. Combs plays Walter Lee Younger, a chauffeur who dreams of rescuing his family from a life of poverty - and the star was determined to take the role and his burgeoning acting career seriously. He tells the New York Daily News, "I moved out of my house and rented a two-bedroom apartment. I even cut off my Blackberry (cell phone). Every time I do a role I want to get better."

JAMIE FOXX TO PORTRAY MIKE TYSON IN NEW BIOPIC.

All of those years of Jamie Foxx hilariously clowning and spoofing former heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson on stage and on television has paid off. The Oscar-winner will portray Tyson in a Hollywood blockbuster biopic about his controversial career. Tyson, who will also produce the film, personally handpicked Foxx for the lead role. "Jamie Foxx and I will be working together. He will play me in the film about my life. We already talked about it several times," says Tyson. As for Foxx, three years ago, the funnyman-turned-actor, who is also a long time friend of Tyson, sought to acquire the rights to the troubled boxer's life story. Foxx told film website Moviehole.net, “I think the Mike Tyson story is the most interesting thing. Nobody knows the stuff that I know, the stuff that I found out. It would blow your mind. Mike Tyson gives you phrases that, if you listen to it, it’ll blow your mind. They (media) said ‘Mike, how do you feel?’ and he said, ‘I’m happy. I’m more happy now that I don’t have any money,' ‘and they said, ‘Why, Mike?’ Mike said, ‘I don’t have to worry about anything. I’m just here.’ And I said, ‘That’s where you go. MOMENT OF TRUTH? JOHNNY GILL SAYS HE'D TAKE A LIE DETECTOR TEST TO PROVE HE'S NOT GAY.

Ask my best friend of 20+ years, Kamika, and she will tell you that me and Johnny Gill (who I've been crushing on since 1988) were supposed to have been married with three kids: two boys: an eight-year old and a six-year old; and a four-year old baby girl, respectively. So imagine my surprise when I found out that he knocked up a chic younger than my 26-year old baby sister. But I digress. Ronnie did the same thing, but again, I'll digress...at least for now. I've always considered Johnny a straight man and I always will, although I'm puzzled as to why he wears a damn nipple ring. Note to JG: that shit is not the business, son. Anywhoo, I said of all that to say this: when will he ever stop addressing the gay rumors surrounding him and his best friend, Eddie? And quite frankly, I'm tired of hearing them and I'm even more tired of hearing him defend himself against them. I'mma mess around and have a J.G. Heartbreak. And just when I thought I'd heard the last of it, at least for a while, I find out that he's again addressing the same rumors. Not only that, but he is also putting the smackdown regarding pesky rumors that claim he was the motivation that caused Eddie to break off his engagement to Tracey Edmonds.

In a radio interview with Doug Banks' syndicated radio show last Friday, denied both rumors and faulted the media for failing to check the facts. He seemed genuinely hurt that he's constantly being being referred to by the public as being more than just Eddie Murphy's running pal. The man who was supposed to be my future husband said it pained him dearly to have to hear about these gay rumors on a damn near daily basis. So much so, he's volunteered to take a lie detector test to prove there's not a gay bone in his body. In the words of 'Gina Waters Payne': 'You go, boy!!' Johnny told Banks', "There's not one person on this planet that could ever say they've seen Johnny Gill step outside of the rim or conducted himself as a man.
