I've been meaning to do a blog post on Lamman Rucker for the longest of time, but somehow it just kept slipping my mind, if you can believe that. It was until FAMUDiva reminded me of what I was supposed to do that I finally got the molasses out of my ass. So, all you Lamman fans have her to thank! I grabbed the following excerpt from an interview Lamman did nearly a year ago! I'm not sure if his feelings have changed since then, but it's still Lamman-newsworthy as far as I'm concerned and I have to admit, after reading what he had to say, it only made me adore him even more. With his sexy self! LOL! Anyhoo, in the interview, published in the Pittsburgh Courier, he was asked to share something about himself that people didn't already know. Check out what he said:

"I’d like people to know that I am not perfect. I hope people see me as a positive role model and an accessible example of what a good man is, but I am also a work in progress. I’m confident and believe that I’m destined for great things, but I wanna make sure people know that we all make mistakes, have fears, get our feelings hurt, experience insecurity, have flaws and have experienced loss, abandonment and disrespect. I have to make a conscious choice to “choose joy” everyday —love of myself, love of God and love for others and walk in that love very deliberately. Life gets me down, at times, too. But I work to persevere and pick my spirit up so I can keep moving forward."

If that ain't keeping it real to the nth degree, I don't know what is. I damn near cried after reading that. Bless his handsome heart.

Lamman also saw fit to thank you ladies, I'm pretty sure that included you too, FAMUDiva, for voting for him in Essence (click the banner up above for more info) magazine's 'Do Right Man of the Year' contest. Now, truthfully speaking. And I'm just being honest, but I do not understand how Lamman lost that much-deserved and coveted title to the other dude whose name I can't even remember. But I also don't understand why Essence chose to put men like Lavan Davis on the list. Broke my mama's heart when she found out dude was 40 years old and not 50-something like she thought. Here's Lamman's special message to all of you.

"I wanted to take a very special moment and thank all of you for your endless support and encouragement for my 2008 Do Right Man feature. I am extremely flattered by the overwhelming response and show of love. I cherish all your positive energy, compassionate testimonies, beautiful photos and words of inspiration. Though time does not permit me to respond to each of you, know that I deeply appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you again for holding me close to your heart. When it comes to television, Lamman isn't content with just being someone's on-screen eye candy...he's intends to work behind the scenes as well.

"I definitely have plans to have my own TV show. It may not be called “The Lamman Rucker Show” but I will have a couple of different things, eventually, that will have me at the forefront of the show or in a position of power over what the show is. I have three ideas in development right now. I plan to cover every genre of television: sitcom, one-hour drama, made-for-TV movies, a talk show, a reality show, a new soap opera, educational programming, spiritual enrichment, etc. I’m trying to do what Dr. Bill Cosby, Tyler Perry, Kelsey Grammer and Yvette Lee Bowser have been doing."

NEW CHILLI NEWS: SINGER FEATURED IN 'HEART & SOUL' MAGAZINE; HANGS WITH LUDA IN THE ATL; PICS OF SINGER IN TALLAHASSEE.

Chilli also hung out with Luacris last Friday (August 29) at his 'Ludaday Weekend' private dinner at his new restaurant Straits. Chilli's new album, Bi-Polar which originally had a September 2nd release has, needless to say, been pushed back. The singer, who is currently shooting more promo shots (click here) for her album cover, is supposed to announce later on this week which record label her album will be distributed on.

For the handful of you Chilli fans who have sent me emails regarding her last visit here in Tallahassee, Florida, I finally have something for you. As promised (back in April), I now have the photos of Chilli's promo stop at Tallahassee's blazing 102.3 radio station with J. Blaze on Wednesday, April 16th, as well as her attending TJDJ's Tastemakers Only DJ/Music Conference with TJ Chapman at The Moon that night where she spent most of the night meeting fans, taking pictures and signing autographs. Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas, the 'sexy' component in best-selling girl group TLC is featured in this month's issue of Heart & Soul magazine to dish details on her workout regimen. The singer turned 37 years old earlier this year, but the only way you'd know it is by looking at her birth certificate. And while she admits she has to actually work to keep weight on her 5 foot, 100 pound frame, Thomas insists she strives to daily to stay healthy, particularly after discovering she has acid reflux. "I'm pretty much the weight that I am, but I work out because we all should. it's healthy for you, it helps relieve stress and it's good for your heart." Chilli hikes, runs, walks and uses free weights (peep TLC's 1993 throwback video Hat 2 Da Back and you'll know what I'm talking about) to keep muscle mass on her naturally slim and shapely physique. She's adjusted to acid reflux by eliminating citrus fruits that burn her stomach and adding raw vegetables, plenty of water, soy milk and mostly organic foods to her diet. Chilli cooks and bakes, and when she does, she uses organic cane sugar for her cobblers and sweet potato pies. Daily prayer and plenty of sleep round out her beauty regimen. "You have to be disciplined. People say they don't eat right because they don't have organic foods at their grocery store or it costs too much. But if it adds 10 or 15 years to your life, it's worth the extra drive and extra penny."

MICHAEL JACKSON ON TURNING 50 YEARS OLD + THROWBACK VIDEO CLIP.

As we all know, Michael Jackson turned the big 5-0 last Friday. And anybody who knows me, especially from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day, knows that I was the biggest Michael Jackson fan ever. My life revolved around him. There was a time....and don't laugh because I was only about 9 years old....but there was a time when I used to sleep with his Thriller album cover. Yes, it was that serious! But that was over twenty years ago. And to see the man with whom I was so in love with back then breaks my heart. Something in dude's milk ain't clean. According to many, the aged computer generated picture up on the right is what Michael Jackson may have looked like had he not undergone so much plastic surgery and skin bleaching over the years. Heartbreaking and unbelievable, right? Now don't get me wrong, I can still watch him perform and loose my mind all over again, but I'd be remiss if I didn't tell you all that I often wonder if there was a time when Michael wanted his 80s look back. He told the folks on Good Morning America last Friday that he can still perform all of his famous dance moves and that the happiest time in his life was when he recorded Thriller back in 1982. He also revealed his hopes of recording new music and possibly embarking on a new tour. "I am still looking forward to doing a lot of great things. I love composing and the whole thing. But I am also raising my children and enjoying it and teaching them to ride bicycles and how to read."

Well as far as I'm concerned, one thing's for certain and two thing's for sure, I'll take that 50 year-old computer generated image of Michael Jackson in a New York minute....even if it is only for a New York minute. Inside Edition ran a lil blurb on Michael turning 50 and when they played a short clip of Thriller, I turned into a 10 year old little girl all over again and went straight into 'screaming at the top of my lungs' mode! Then they slapped my ass back into reality when they showed a recent pic of him looking beiger than beige. Skin complexion the same as a saltine cracker. And that is not a good look, Mike.

In the meantime and in between time, let's go back, hopefully without crying afterwards about what could've and should've been, and take a look at this Michael Jackson performance that put him on the map as a solo singer.

TYLER PERRY'S 'MEET THE BROWNS' TV VERSION TO DEBUT IN JANUARY 20090; PICS OF SANAA LATHAN & TARAJI HENSON AT RED CARPET EVENT.

Wednesday nights on TBS may get a little bit more funny pretty soon. At the top of 2009, get ready to Meet the Browns for the third time via cable television. Nearly a year ago, I told you all a television version of Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns would soon find its way to the small screen once a network picked it up. Unsurprisingly, TBS, which airs Perry's House of Payne sitcom, has also snatched up Meet the Browns and will begin airing the first of ten episodes, which have already been filmed, next January. Of his highly anticipated series, Perry says, "I am so excited to continue my relationship with TBS. It has been so fulfilling artistically, I feel as if I've been adopted into another family. An artist such as myself cannot imagine being in a partnership with any other network." The film version of Meet the Browns starred Angela Bassett as a struggling single mom from Chicago who meets the family of her estranged late father in Atlanta and inherits a house. Actor David Mann will reprise his role from the movie as Leroy Brown, the head of the Georgia family.

The sitcom will kick off with Leroy inheriting the run-down house from his late father. And speaking of Tyler. His new movie The Family that Preys starring himself, Sanaa Lathan, Taraji Henson and Alfre Woodard will hit theaters next Wednesday. I was able to find a few pics of Sanaa and Taraji posing on the red carpet at the Verizon launch party for the Blackberry 8330 Pink Curve last week.

TYSON 'BUSH IT BABY' BECKFORD BARES ALL AT MARIE CLAIRE FASHION EVENT.

To say Tyson Beckford literally showed his ass this past weekend would be an understatement. The model and judge of Bravo's reality show Make Me a Super Model obviously wasn't afraid to bare all when he jumped into a swimming pool butterball-butt naked at the Marie Claire Fashion with Heart Cocktail Party in Darlinghurst last Friday in Sydney, Australia.
