MARTIN LAWRENCE PAYS BACK TEACHER WHO INFLUENCED HIM THE MOST.

Heads up for you teachers out there who would rather send the class clown to the principal office when they act up. If you give them a couple of minutes to show off their talent, when they grow up and make it big, chances are they just might hook you up! For instance, Martin Lawrence bought his high school art teacher a new car after making in it Hollywood - because his success was all down to her. Lawrence claims Miss Henderson - who he nicknamed Froggy - gave him the opportunity to vent his creativity, and showed him a way to make money by being funny. He tells Maxim magazine, "The first person who encouraged me to get into comedy was my high school art teacher, Miss Henderson. I'd always disrupt her class, so she said, 'If you can just chill during class, I'll give you the last five minutes to make us laugh. Then one day she mentioned this open mic night at a club. "She said, 'If you become an actor, you can buy me a car. As soon as the cheques started coming in, I bought her a car."

Bless his heart.

Below are a couple of pics of Martin as he arrived at the MTV studios in Times Square last month.

JENNIFER LOPEZ DENIES RUMORS SHE HIRED 6 NEW BODYGUARDS TO PROTECT HER BABIES.

Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony have denied reports they've hired six new bodyguards at a cost of $600,000 to protect their newborn twins. Lopez gave birth to a boy named Max, and a girl named Emme in Long Island, New York on February 22, 2008. The Chicago Sun-Times claimed the couple had employed six security guards to guard the babies at an annual cost of $600,000 because Lopez is "paranoid about a possible kidnapping". However, the Latina's representative says, "This story is ridiculous and without merit."

And in related news, Lopez's OB/GYN has heaped praise on the new mommy stating the singer/actress is the perfect mother. Dr. Anita Sadaty was with Lopez when her baby twins were born and she reveals the delivery was easy and uncomplicated. She tells Life & Style magazine the babies, a boy and girl, were both healthy - and Lopez is adjusting to her newest role as a mother well. Jennifer was amazing. She has this motherhood glow about her, very serene. Her boy and girl are healthy - and for that she feels so thankful and blessed. The delivery went without a hitch. There were no complications whatsoever. Marc was by her side. He and Jennifer are simply overjoyed."

The doctor also confirms the twins were both delivered by Caesarian Section, and entered the world 11 minutes apart - with Lopez's baby girl coming first. As previously reported, Dr. Sadaty sent Lopez home with her babies on Monday (25Feb08).

A 3rd REMATCH BETWEEN EVANDER HOLYFIELD & MIKE TYSON COULD BE IN THE WORKS.....IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT.

Evander Holyfield said he and Mike Tyson are discussing the possibility of fighting each other for a third time, the Guardian newspaper reported, citing an interview with the four-time heavyweight boxing champion. Holyfield, 45, said Tyson approached him via an intermediary to discuss a rematch, the Guardian reported. Their second fight in 1997 ended in controversy when Tyson was disqualified for twice biting Holyfield, on one occasion tearing off a chunk of his ear.

``There has been some talk between us,'' the Guardian cited Holyfield as saying. "Mike had Jeff Fenech, who's been training him, call me a few months ago. Jeff says Mike wants to fight me again - but he needs to know if I would agree to it. I said, 'It all depends on what they are going to give us - because I'm gonna catch a lot of flak if I say I'm fighting Mike Tyson again. I've already said I don't want to fight Mike no more'. Jeff says, 'What if Mike gets in proper shape?' I told him that's OK but I can't be part of it if Mike's going to pull out. Jeff said, 'The main thing Mike wants to know is if you would be willing to fight him again?' I said, 'Yeah, if the price is right, I probably would'."

Holyfield knocked out Tyson when they first fought in 1996 and has a professional boxing record of 42-9-2. Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion in 1986 when he beat Trevor Berbick at age 20. Now 41, Tyson last fought in June of 2005, when he quit during the seventh round of a bout against Kevin McBride to leave his record at 50-6.

JUVENILE 'DEVASTATED' & 'SHOCKED' OVER THE MURDER OF HIS 4-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER + MORE DETAILS FROM THE SHOOTING.

A spokesperson for Juvenile (real name Terius Gray) whose four year old daughter was shot and killed alongside her mother and half-sister says the rapper is, needless to say, 'devastated.' As previously reported, the bodies of Juvenile's daughter Jelani; her mother, Joy Deleston, 39; and Deleston's daughter Micaiah, 11, were found Thursday night in their home in Lawrenceville, Georgia, which is near Atlanta. Deleston's 17-year-old son, Anthony Tyrone Terrell Jr., is being charged with the murders. He was arrested Friday. "It really shocked him and devastated him to the point where I've never seen him before," Francis said of the rapper, according to the Associated Press. "Right now he is relaxing and trying to grasp everything of what has happened." Deleston, 39, was an actress who appeared in locally produced films, as well as a seven-and-a-half-year veteran of the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Police have not announced a motive in the killings.

Terrell waived his first court hearing, where he would have been formally notified of the charges against him, on Friday, a Gwinnett County Magistrate Court clerk told the AJC. Defense attorney Lyle Porter, who could not be reached Friday, has been assigned to represent him. Because of his age, prosecutors cannot seek the death penalty against Terrell. A preliminary hearing will be set next week in Gwinnett County Superior Court, prosecutor Danny Porter told the AP. He is being held without bail. Authorities on Friday found the gun used, going by information provided by Terrell. Police spokeswoman Illana Spellman said she could not confirm whether Deleston's service weapon was used. Police had gone to the subdivision because a caller reported shots fired, Officer David Schiralli said earlier. They found a bullet hole in a house, then checked next door because they knew a deputy lived there. "There was no answer, but lights were on," Schiralli said. "They opened the door a little bit to announce themselves," then discovered the bodies, he said. The 17-year-old son arrived at the house about 35 minutes later, he said. Spellman said he was arrested after talking to investigators but didn't elaborate.

Neighbors said the family had moved in less than a year ago. They often saw Deleston in her squad car coming home from work and said having a deputy around was reassuring. Jeff Beaird, who lives across the street, said he often saw Terrell in the driveway shooting hoops with his friends or washing his mother's patrol car but doesn't remember anything out of the ordinary. "It's so shocking because you don't expect something like this to happen," Beaird said. Michael Hunt said he was taking a nap before starting work on the night shift Thursday when he heard the news about his neighbors. Hunt recalled that his wife had seen Terrell hours earlier walking down the street carrying a basketball. "For him to be scared of our dog and then to kill his whole family ... it just doesn't add up," Hunt said.

ACTIVISTS & BLACK JOURNALISTS PROTEST AGAINST WHITE MALE DRAG QUEEN'S DEGRADING DEPICTION OF BLACK WOMEN. (*WARNING*)

Several activists are coming out in force to express outrage with Charles Knipp, a 45-year-old, gay, drag comedian best known for performing in blackface as his alter ego character, Shirley Q. Liquor – nicknamed "the Queen of Ignunce." Knipp describes Liquor as being “an illiterate welfare mother with 19 kids who guzzles malt liquor and drives a Caddy.” Her conversation is saturated with malapropisms. For example, she says her cat needs to get "sprayed," and she pronounces K-Mart and Wal-Mart "K-Mark" and 'Wal-Mark." The character attends Mount Holy Olive Second Baptist Zion Church of God in Christ of Resurrected Latter-Days AME CME (a reference to historically African-American churches). Knipp’s is also known for mocking the black American holiday Kwanzaa and makes fun of stereotypical-sounding black names in a music video entitled, Who Is My Baby’s Daddy, where his character Shirley Q. Liquor tries to recollect the names of her "chirrun," “…Cheeto, Orangello, Chlamydia, and Kmartina...”

WWW.BanShirleyQLiquor.com has been launched in an attempt to ban Knipp's minstrel show. Also, The Bev Smith Show on American Urban Radio Networks (AURN) will dedicate its entire broadcast today (8:12 p.m.-10 p.m. ET) to the campaign to ban Shirley Q. Liquor and spread the word about his upcoming performances. "We believe that if Mr. Knipp is a true talent, he can find plenty of folks who look just like him to present in 3-dimensional caricature," read a statement from Smith's camp. "If he really is funny, then he can find more than enough insulting and stereotypical elements of his own group, their background, and their culture, to mock. HE DOES NOT NEED OURS. As it is said, we have enough problems.

As if injury could further be added to this insult, a recent posting to his website allegedly included the headshot of well-respected journalist/activist Jasmyne Cannick--a woman who daily responds to and fights for the rights and dignity of persons of color and the LGBT communities--edited atop the body of a naked and hefty-breasted woman. (BLOGGER'S NOTE: TO VIEW THIS DEGRADING PICTURE, CLICK HERE, BUT I MUST WARN YOU IT IS EXTREMELY GRAPHIC.)

Understand this, please: One of our journalists has been insulted. Would Charles Knipp have done this to an AP journalist? Would the head of Mike Wallace or Cokie Roberts or Jorge Ramos be used this way without response from their respective communities? We think not." Cannick added: “Imus may have called Black women ‘nappy-headed ho's,’ but it’s Knipp who routinely tries to bring that image to life onstage as Shirley Q. Liquor. The hypocrisy is sickening. Isaiah Washington was unable to escape the wrath of gay America, but Charles Knipp, a white gay man, can perform a blackface minstrel and be rewarded by gay Americans to the tune of $90k annually. Someone has some explaining to do. This has gone on for far too long under the radar.”

The Bev Smith Show can be heard in Sacramento, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Augusta, Chicago, and more. Listen to the show online at www.wamoam.com or www.waok.com.

JAMIE FOXX IMMORTALIZED IN WAX + MORE NEW PICS OF FOXX ON THE SET OF 'THE SOLOIST.'

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas chose Jamie Foxx, one of the most notable performers of our time, to officially open Black History Month in the attraction's Spirit of America Room, with the official unveiling of his life-like wax figure (click picture on the left). The Foxx unveiling kicked off the "Madame Tussauds Black History" month-long celebration. Foxx joins other famous notable African-American figures already on display as part of the exhibit. Figures included are Muhammad Ali, Louis Armstrong, James Brown, Whoopi Goldberg, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jordan, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Oprah Winfrey. "Jamie Foxx was a natural choice for us. He not only embodies the upper echelon of celebrity that we look to celebrate, but what he represents to the Black community, and Americans as a whole, is the ability to take born-talent, drive and commitment and transform them into something magical," commented Adrian Jones, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Las Vegas.

Foxx participated in a 2-hour private sitting where Tussauds Studio artists from London took precise measurements, matched eye/skin/hair coloring and experienced his personality, which are paramount in the making of his $300,000 wax likeness. According to sculptor, David Sharpe, "Mr. Foxx was extremely gracious with his time and actually entertained us with his upbeat, positive and charming personality."

Below are several more candid pics of Jamie on the set of his new film, The Soloist.

Foxx is the second male, and the first African American, in history to receive two Oscar nominations in the same year for two different movies, Collateral and Ray.

Foxx was born in Dallas, Texas December 13, 1967 as Eric Marlon Bishop. At his grandmother's urging, Foxx began piano lessons at age five and soon thereafter his many talents surfaced! Foxx changed his name while doing stand-up comedy upon discovering that female comedians were often called first to perform on stage. He felt "Jamie" was an ambiguous enough name to disallow any biases. His last name was chosen as a tribute to Redd Foxx.
