TYLER PERRY'S 'WHY DID I GET MARRIED?' CLAIMS THE #1 SPOT AT THE BOX OFFICE.

Was there ever any question that Tyler Perry's 'Why Did I Get Married?' would claim the top spot in this weekend's box office sales?! Just think how higher that number would have been if the film was shown in more theater screens across the country! And can I say that I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that the actors and actresses--whether they're A-list or not--who passed up the golden opportunity to be a part of this film are probably either spitting fire, hating or congratulating right about now!

Academy Awards heavyweights such as George Clooney and Cate Blanchett were no match for another of Tyler Perry's populist tales. The Lionsgate release "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?", a marital yarn whose ensemble cast includes Janet Jackson, Malik Yoba, Jill Scott and writer-director Perry, debuted as the No. 1 weekend movie with $21.5 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. Perry's flick came in well ahead of Clooney's legal drama "Michael Clayton," Blanchett's historical pageant "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," and Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg's crime saga "We Own the Night," which all pulled in modest crowds. Though "Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls" had a so-so opening earlier this year, "Why Did I Get Married?" joined his previous hits "Madea's Family Reunion" and "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," which also opened at No. 1.

"Why Did I Get Married?" follows the domestic trials of couples re-evaluating their relationships during an annual reunion.

"Tyler Perry is a mogul," said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Media By Numbers. "There is a built-in audience base for Tyler Perry's movies, no matter what time of year, no matter what the subject matter."

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Media By Numbers LLC. Final figures will be released Monday.

1. "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?", $21.5 million.
2. "The Game Plan," $11.5 million.
3. "Michael Clayton," $11.01 million.
4. "We Own the Night," $11 million.
5. "The Heartbreak Kid" $7.4 million.
6. "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," $6.2 million.
7. "The Kingdom" $4.6 million.
8. "Across the Universe," $4 million.
9. "Resident Evil: Extinction," $2.65 million.
10. "The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising," $2.15 million.

THE LAST PHOTOS OF T.I. AS A FREE MAN?

With T.I. currently in federal custody for weapons charges as well as a violation of probation charge (with other charges pending), prison time can and most definitely is a possibility the rapper will be forced to face. I don't want to go into too much detail because if I did, this post would be incredibly long...and the last thing I want to do is to keep harping on his situation. However, according to ajc.com, Hassan Musaddiq, a cameraman for the Atlanta public access hip-hop show Severe Entertainment, says he witnessed ATF officers take both T.I. and his longtime girlfriend Tameka 'Tiny' Cottle as well as rappers Mac Boney and Young Dro, who record for T.I.'s Grand Hustle record label into custody also.

T.I. and Tiny share a toddler son together.

So, will we ever see pics of T.I. popping bottles at a club again? Will his fans ever be able to watch him perform in concert again? Will we ever hear him and Ludacris (I know I ain't the only one wonder what he's thinking right about now!) spitting bars on a collabo? Will he ever see his kids off to college? Or will the feds lock him up for the next 25 years and release him back into the community by the time he's way over the age of 50-years-old?

Well, only time (and God) will tell. Until then, check out these pics of T.I. looking as if he doesn't have a care in the world while partying it up with former foe, Ludacris and fellow ATL-natives Jermaine Dupri and Young Jeezy at the 'Welcome to Atlanta Jam BET Hip-Hop Awards Kick-Off Party' at the Velvet Room on October 11, 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Are these the last pics we will ever see of T.I./TIP as a free man?

***UPDATE***T.I. ARRESTED AND HELD WITHOUT BAIL ON 2 FEDERAL FELONY WEAPONS CHARGES.

Well, people, it looks like T.I.'s situation have turned from bad to worst. And considering his extensive criminal history, we may never see T.I. perform on stage again. Moreover, on what would have been one of the best and biggest nights in his life is now just a bleak memory. The rapper, who has been officially charged with two felony weapons violations will remain in federal custody until he goes before a judge in federal court on Monday. Now, this is the kinda stuff I've read about in hood novels--yes, I read them--(by folks such as Shannon Holmes, K'wan, Noire, Nikki Turner and Wahida Clark). But one thing though: what the hell did he think he was gonna do with those guns...when he knew full well that he's never supposed to be in possession of one/

Anywhoo, I just have one thing to say to T.I.'s former fraudulent bodyguard...and yall know what I'm talking about: Snitches get Stiches.

Atlanta rapper T.I., whose given name is Clifford Harris Jr., was in federal custody Saturday night in his hometown. His arrest came at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, four hours before the BET Hip-Hop Awards show got under way downtown. Harris, 27, was charged with two felonies -- possession of three unregistered machine guns and two silencers, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. The arrest was made in the parking lot of a downtown shopping center, which a witness identified as the Walgreens drug store at the corner of North and Piedmont avenues.
