The cute and oh so adorable Lauren London graces the latest issue of
Jewel magazine and for someone whose so young, she dropped a load of knowledge so deep it would stun a 50-year-old. She's what old folks would refer to as someone with an 'old soul.' The actress talked candidly about various subjects in her life: her acting career, her heartbreak from her on-again/off-again boyfriend, what she looks for in a man, her worst fears, her home-imprisoned
ATL co-star T.I., why she's so freaking frugal, gossip and rumors (being linked to Omarion, Nick Cannon and another
ATL co-star, actor Jackie Long), and the love of her life--her newborn goddaughter, Liris. Truth be told; this girl can honestly be considered as an urban version of the girl-next-door, dimples and all. Needless to say, her feature story was indeed entertaining intriguing and mind-opening. By the time I finished the three and a half page interview, I'd gained a new respect for the 23-year-old Los Angeles native and former video girl. You all can peep a couple of excerpts below from her interview, but to get the real deal on London, go and pick up a copy of this issue today.
LAUREN LONDON ON BEING A BLACK ACTRESS IN HOLLYWOOD: 'I probably will have to push the envelope a little harder than some. And that's okay. Life's not easy, and no one said anything was going to be handed to me. I just want to continue to stretch as an actress.'
LAUREN ON ON T.I., HER ATL CO-STAR WHO WAS ARRESTED ON WEAPON CHARGES LAST YEAR: 'He's doing good. He's a strong man and he went through a lot as a kid. He's just holding on, and he sounds very positive. And at this point, that's all he can be.'
LAUREN ON RUMORS SHE'S BEEN ROMANTICALLY LINKED TO JACKIE LONG & WAS PREGNANT WITH HIS CHILD: 'That's my boy, but that's the craziest thing I've heard so far. I've learned not to make the rumors my reality. It seems like the media builds you up to bring you down. I'm not surprised. It's the way of the world. It's how we're influencing our children and what we're putting in everyone's ears. You've got two-year-olds walking around with cellphones. The world is way too fast now.'

LAUREN ON HOW SHE DEALT WITH HER HEARTBREAK & WHAT SHE LOOKS FOR IN A MATE: 'I've had my heart broken twice. It's been a long time since I've been in a relationship. That's the story of my life, though. I have to feel a connection that's far from sexual. It just has to be right. A lot of times, these guys think it's about what they have or what they do, but that doesn't impress me. That might be cool for one date, but what are we going to talk about on the second? For a man to get a second date, he would have to be spiritually right, and he would need to be honest with himself. I don't want perfection, but I want somebody who knows what it takes to be perfect. I want somebody very driven who has his own personality and his own life outside of mine. I need someone who understands my need for independence because I'm an only child. I just want somebody who is going to be down for me from the follicles of my hair to my little pinky toe. And if we were stranded on a desert island, he'd get a coconut out of a tree and let me eat it first!'
LONDON ON THE BIRTH OF HER GODDAUGHTER, LIRIS: 'I've seen her everyday since she was born. She's perfect. I'm in love with her. [Her birth] was the first time in my life that I was in a situation where I felt like a tiny vessel. Like I knew that everything around me had nothing to do with any of us. It was all out of our control. It made me feel small, but big. And it's funny, but I don't stress over the little stuff anymore, because we're all so small and everything else is so big. It's just not that deep.'
