DESPITE INTERNET RUMORS... JERMAINE & JANET HAVE NOT JUMPED THE BROOM

Ever notice how Janet just glows when she's with Jermaine? Who knew?! Too cute! You can't tell me she isn't still head over heels in love with JD after 6 years together! That's why when I read Internet rumors that the two had secretly tied the knot over the weekend, I must admit I kinda believe it for a minute....or two. Well, that Internet rumor was just that: a rumor. Today Jermaine gave a statement to Us magazine regarding his rumored marriage to his sweetheart. Bless their hearts....

Good news for Janet Jackson fans: when Miss Damita Jo marries her long-time boyfriend, music producer Jermaine Dupri, you'll hear about it. In response to a report in the National Enquirer that he and Jackson have eloped and secretly married, Dupri, 34, exclusively tells Usmagazine.com, "When Janet and I get married, everybody will know. It's not something I want to keep a secret. I'm going to promote it like a party!" Rumors began spreading like wildfire that the R&B odd couple got hitched last Saturday afternoon at a secret location, with only close family and friends in attendance.

If and/or when Dupri and Jackson make that major move it will be the first for him and third for her. Jackson was married to James DeBarge for a year, which ended in an annulment in 1985 and the marriage to second husband Rene Elizondo Jr. ended in 1998 after seven years.

Jackson, who more recently has been making news for her yo-yo dieting/weight issues rather than her music, is currently filming a starring role in the upcoming Tyler Perry comedy Why Did I Get Married?. With today's Dupri-denial, it looks like that's a question Jackson won't be asking in real life just yet.

FOXY BROWN GETS THE SHOCK OF HER LIFE AFTER JUDGE SENDS HER TO RIKERS ISLAND FOR 3rd VIOLATION OF PROBATION CHARGE.

Didn't I tell you all a couple of days ago that Foxy was going to learn to stop playing with people? Well, looks like what I predicted (as well as others, I'm sure) has finally come to fruition. Not only did the judge throw the book at Foxy by ordering her into state custody, she also ordered the rappper, who earlier this week claimed to be 3 months pregnant, to be held on Rikers Island until her next courtdate in about 2 weeks....

TMZ has learned that Foxy Brown is headed to Rikers Island, after a Manhattan judge ordered the three-months-pregnant rapper to serve time for violating her probation. Minutes ago, Judge Melissa Jackson remanded Brown to the custody of the state, and threw her in the clink until her next hearing Sept. 7. Brown had been on probation on assault charges, but two incidents in recent weeks violated her probation, thus leading Judge Jackson to send Foxy to jail.

A source tells TMZ that Foxy's face was "priceless" when the judge handed down her decision, and that Brown and her lawyer had not expected to see jail time. It has yet to be determined where Brown will be held, but Brown was booked at Manhattan Criminal Court and handed over to authorities. In court, Brown revealed that she is three months pregnant, and that she plans to get married.

UPDATE: Stephen Morello of the Department of Corrections tells TMZ that Foxy will be housed at the Rose M. Singer Center, a women's jail on Rikers Island. We're told that she may indeed be segregated from the rest of the facility's population, a determination which is being made right now.

FOXY'S FORMER FLAME, KURUPT MARRIES LONGTIME GIRLFRIEND, GAIL GOTTI IN PHILLY

Tha Dogg Pound's Kurupt and Gail Gotti tied the knot on Saturday (August 20) during a private ceremony held in Philadelphia, PA. The hip-hop couple exchanged vows in front of 170 of their closest family and friends at the Rittenhouse Hotel, eight months after Kurupt proposed to Gail. "Words could never describe the love and passion that we have for each other," said Gotti after the engagement became official in December oof 2006. "What helps make our relationship so strong is that we are best friends."

Gotti said the wedding was "perfect. It was elegant, personal, simple and fun. The day was filled with everything I ever dreamed of and more," the female rapper said in a statement. They have been planning the wedding since last year, and have kept the details underwraps to avoid wedding crashers such as the media, fans and anyone else not invited. "This is just another example in a long list that differentiates them from other high profile couples," their publicist Melissa Haje Sera said. "Everything was so upscale and elegant just like they are." The ceremony lasted until the early hours of the next morning, thanks to music provided by XM's DJ Nina 9 and DJ Xclusive.

"I'm still speechless," said Kurupt. "Gail really outdid herself with putting the entire wedding together. Everything was perfect from the beginning to the end, and I married the perfect woman, I couldn't of asked for more."

FANTASIA SAYS 'THE COLOR PURPLE' ROLE IS MENTALLY/PHYSICALLY EXHAUSTING: 'I'M BEING TOLD EVERYDAY THAT I'M UGLY.'

You’d think the hectic, sleep-deprived, roller coaster schedule of American Idol would’ve conditioned Fantasia Barrino to handle a Broadway schedule with relative ease. But that’s not the case. In fact, she says her starring role in The Color Purple is “kicking her butt” from every direction. “I ain't never heard the sleep word so much in my life until I got on Broadway,' she tells the Associated Press. 'I'm so tired - mentally tired, physically tired.'

Fantasia says the show’s subject matter is equally as draining. 'Miss Celie takes a lot out of me,' she says. 'I'm being told everyday that I'm ugly. ... you can't play the part if you don't kind of put yourself in her shoes and live her life. So it's like, I carry that stuff with me. I put myself in her shoes in having (daughter) Zion at such a young age and dropping out of school and being in just bad relationships and disrespected,' she says. “I just feel like God won't put too much on me than I can bear. As long as I feel like I'm touching somebody ... as long as I'm blessing somebody, I know that I'll be blessed.'

The singer believes in the saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” and has applied the logic to her run in the stage play.'It's teaching me discipline,' says Fantasia, who believes she'll be a new woman when it's over. 'I won't look at things the same. After doing Broadway, you can do anything.”

During Kanye West’s gig Monday night in London, the rapper dedicated his song Big Brother to Jay-Z, explaining that the mogul was the reason he made music and because of this he was able to buy his mother a house. The intimate show at Westminster Central Hall had an audience of about 500, all of whom were greeted by workers wearing graduation gowns and mortar boards in honor of his album Graduation, due Sept. 11.

In related news, West is in the midst of a friendly rivalry with 50 Cent, whose album Curtis also comes out on Sept. 11. But in the October issue of XXL, the rapper-producer says he looks to a certain crossover pop star as the artist to beat in the music industry. My biggest inspiration and biggest competition is Justin Timberlake," the 29-year-old artist tells the magazine, on newsstands Sept. 11. "He's the only other person that gets an across-the-board response and respect level — black radio, white radio. If Justin hadn't come out and killed the game, I can't say that my album, singles and videos would be on the same level that they're on," he says. "We push each other. I look at me and Justin like Prince and Michael Jackson in their day."

Earlier this month, 50 Cent promised to quit his solo career if his album is outsold by West's Graduation. West, a six-time Grammy winner, tells XXL that he's "never cared about being No. 1." He feels it’s more important that his music connects with people. "I feel like my lyrics are, if not THE, then equal to, the realest lyrics out," he says. "I connected with so many people without talkin' about guns and drugs. ... It's harder to go to work 365 days than shoot a person in one day." R. KELLY'S SEX TAPE TO BE SHOWN; JUDGE ALLOWS MEDIA & PUBLIC TO VIEW ALLEGED SMOKING GUN...GOLDEN SHOWER SCENE INCLUDED.

I have now come to the conclusion that R. Kelly has to have the stupidest lawyers in all the land of the entire earth, galazy and beyond....

The judge in R. Kelly’s forthcoming child pornography trial upheld his earlier ruling to allow the media and public to see the videotape that allegedly shows the singer having sex with an underage girl. In his earlier ruling, Gaughan said there was not an "overarching interest" in keeping the media and the public from seeing a tape that is the "linchpin" of the case. During a hearing Tuesday, prosecutors urged Cook County Criminal Court Judge Vincent Gaughan to reverse his ruling, arguing that making the tape public would re-victimize the girl, reports the Chicago Tribune. But Gaughan refused to reconsider, noting that the girl who prosecutors believe is in the video has claimed that it isn't her. On Tuesday, Gaughan said that because the girl has denied that she is on the tape, there is no victim to protect. Prosecutors said they do not plan to call the girl as a witness. "If the alleged victim testifies, I'll change the ruling," Gaughan said.

Assistant State's Atty. Shauna Boliker also said that a pediatrician, Dr. Sharon Cooper, will testify that the girl – who has been uncooperative with investigators – is exhibiting behavior consistent with someone who has been victimized. Kelly's attorney, Ed Genson, said the expert's opinion would be rendered moot because the girl is not the girl on the tape. Cooper also is expected to testify that patterns from Kelly's hand print are consistent with a hand in the video, Boliker said. But Genson argued that Cooper does not have the qualifications to make that kind of judgment.

In another motion, Kelly's lawyer Edward Genson asked the court to exclude from trial a portion of the tape showing Kelly urinating on the girl. He argued that such a display would be prejudicial to the defense. Boliker said that part of the tape is central to two of the charges in the 14-count indictment against Kelly and that it should not be removed "just because something is shocking or distasteful."

Gaughan denied the motion.

Gaughan will decide Sept. 10 on whether to allow Cooper's testimony. Jury selection is set to begin on Sept. 17. Kelly, facing up to 15 years in prison if convicted, pleaded not guilty to 14 counts of child pornography.
