'NEW YORK' SOUNDS OFF ON JENNIFER HUDSON & PUNK'S ENGAGMENT: 'IT'S A MIXED MATCH, IT WON'T WORK.'

This heffah here! Tiffany 'New York' Pollard is throwing in her two cents on the recent news of the engagement of Jennifer Hudson and former I Love New York 2 contestant David 'Punk' Otunga. Tiff told In Touch magazine that she's a bit skeptical about the authenticity of the couple's engagement and that she hopes Punk is marrying Jen for the right reasons because she feels he could quickly end up becoming the next Al Reynolds! But Miss Muppet Lady, who alludes to the notion that maybe Punk is too good for Jennifer, didn't stop there. Continue reading below:
“He’s really loving being Mr. Jennifer Hudson. I think he’s loving the lavish things she brings to his life, he’s seeing the world due to Jennifer’s success. [But] can you love this person if they lose all of this tomorrow? She needs to find out. I just hope people are marrying each other for the right reasons. It’s a mixed match, it won’t work. He’ll be in her shadow like Al Reynolds was to Star Jones, like Stedman Graham is to Oprah....When we were in Miami together (during the taping of ILNY2), he didn’t even try anything [on me]! Maybe I wasn’t his type, maybe I wasn’t big enough for him. His heart is way big....Two weeks ago, I ran into [Jennifer and David] and I didn’t say much. I said ‘Goodbye, Punk!’ and she looked at me like ‘What!’ I know his name’s David, but I call him Punk.”
Gurl, bye! Besides, if J. Hud and D. Otunga continue on with their hectic career schedules, there may not be a wedding period.

OLD BIDDY BEEF AT ITS BEST: ARETHA FRANKLIN BLASTS TINA TURNER FOR BLASTING HER IN A RECENT INTERVIEW.

Lawd, Tina done did it (again) now! Don't get me wrong, I respect my elders and whatnot, but let me find out Big 'Retha always has to have the last word...even if she does sound like a damn fool. Last week I posted excerpts taken from a recent Tina Turner interview in which Tina commented on a previous statement made by Aretha Franklin. Long story short: Aretha was pissed about Beyonce referring to Tina at the 'Queen' during their performance at this year's Grammy Awards. Not only did Aretha bitch about that then, but she's still bitching about it now to anyone who'll listen. (Read all about that here) Since then, Tina has responded to Aretha's statement by stating: "Her [Aretha] ego must be so big to think she was the only one. That's how queens are!" Now, Aretha has apparently felt the need to bitch back once again. In responding to a recent interview Aretha called herself calling out Tina for the second time. Peep what she had to say in a nicety way below:
“I have always appreciated what Tina Turner has to offer and had quietly cheered her on after Ike and her subsequent success. However, with respect to her statement concerning my ego (in saying, ‘Her ego must be so big to think she was the only one … that’s how queens are’) clearly she was talking about herself as she described herself as the ‘Queen of Rock’ and saying ‘that’s what Queens do’ — particularly since she does not have a clue as to who I am in view of the fact that we have never met. I never figured her to resort to tacky press just to sell a few tickets. I understand and I know that the concert market is down where ticket sales are concerned. I really had put her in a different class — higher than that. Finally, no one has been more gracious or complimentary to their peers than I have and I am confident and secure enough to do so, unlike some others. I wish Ms. Turner all the best, as I always have. Perhaps one day we will meet.”
Why the hate Re-Re? Why? If this ain't some geriatric beef, I don't know what is.

'THE YOUNG & RESTLESS' SOAP STAR, CHRISTEL KHALIL a.k.a. 'LILY WINTERS' MARRIES BOYFRIEND IN SMALL CEREMONY.

Congratulations to The Young & The Restless star Christel Khalil, who plays 'Lily Winters' on the CBS soap. The 20-year old actress married her boyfriend Stephen Hensley in a small, intimate ceremony last month on September 21st. Guests included Khalil's family, friends and fellow Y&R cast mates. Let's hope her real life marriage plays out ten times better than her onscreen marriage to 'Daniel'! As for 'Lily' and 'Cane'....well....

Anywho, to give you all a little bit of background info on Christel, the actress began portraying 'Lily Winters' back in 2002 until she 'temporarily' left the soap in 2005 to pursue other movie and television projects. She was eventually replaced by actress Davetta Sherwood, who most Y&R fans, like myself, quickly took a liking to. Seven short months later, before we could organize a non-official 'Team Davetta!' cheering squad, Christel decided those her other projects weren't working out thus her return to the soap to reprise the 'Lily Winters' role. Lynn Marie Latham, Y&R executive producer at the time (she has since been let go), played favorites by giving the role back to Christel and firing Davetta. During her time away from Y&R, Christel, whose father is Pakistani, and mother is of African American, Native American and White American ancestry, had a small tv role in the French animated series W.I.T.C.H. which is based on an Italian comic book of the same name. Yes, she left Y&R to play the voice of a character on a cartoon series.

PICS: BIRDMAN GIVES LIL WAYNE $1 MILLION FOR HIS 29th BIRTHDAY.

Last night Cash Money Records CEO Birdman showed Lil Weezy how much he loved him in a million ways. The pint-size rapper was all smiles after receiving a million dollars in cash as a birthday present from his 'mentor' while celebrating his 29th birthday at Mansion in Miami, Florida. Must be nice. Akon (if you can find him in all that blackness) and DJ Khaled who were also in the building, looked on in amazement as Lil Wayne opened the Louis Vuitton briefcase full of brand new crisp one hundred dollar bills. A stunned party guest says, "Lil Wayne was left speechless. He was almost in tears when he hugged his friend. I mean, who wouldn't like $1 million as a birthday gift?" The Mansion bash was a lavish affair all round - one of the party's main attractions was an ice sculpture full of what else? Frozen $100 bills.

NEW MAGAZINE SCANS: CHILLI IN HYPE HAIR MAGAZINE.

Without question, Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas is a music industry icon. As one third of the super hot R&B trio TLC, she made history as a member of the highest selling female group of all time. With over 45 million records sold worldwide, her phenomenal success was achieved with a massive string of hits, including the number one single Waterfalls. Her stint in this successful group gained her several accolades and her breathtaking beauty deemed her one of the most beautiful women in music. Now, after a long hiatus, Chilli is back on the scene with a brand new solo album on the horizon. The folks at Hype Hair magazine had the pleasure of having Chilli visit their New York studios for this exclusive photo shoot. This beautiful fashion spread, styled by Eric 'Estylz' Santiago, showcases Chilli's crazy, sexy, cool style to perfection.

Insisting that a little goes a long way, make-up artist Tiffany Garlick says she took the basic approach to applying Chilli's make-up for this shoot. 'Chilli's skin is flawless! You really can't find one imperfection and she takes care of her skin very well. She's just a natural girl. Chilli likes her make-up very natural, so I chose a very light foundation and highlighted her cheeks. I used Dermablend foundation and a little Peach Twist blush from MAC on her cheeks to give her a little glow. For her eyes, I used a little concealer, applied lashes and gave her a little crease in the eyelids and that was it.' For Chilli's hair, celebrity hairstylist Anji B. styled Chilli's hair by finger combing her voluminous waves. Anji also pinned her hair up into a fun, tousled ponytail to change it up a bit.

Chilli's hot pink and black ballet point retro chic stilettos are from the Dollhouse collection; all jewelry (except the diamond stud earrings, which are her own) were provided by Ally Marie Couture Jewelry and Evie's Fashion House; tan army jacket by Akademiks; jeans by Miss Sixy.

BEYONCE FINALLY DISHES DETAILS OF HER WEDDING & MARRIAGE TO ESSENCE MAGAZINE + AUDIO CLIPS OF HER 2 NEW SINGLES.

Better savor it. This may be the one and only time Beyonce talks about her marriage to her husband of 6 months, Jay-Z, their private wedding, if they have decided to have children and of course her new album. Below are more excerpts from Beyonce's interview. To listen to Beyonce's two new singles If I Were a Boy and Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It), click here.

BEYONCE ON MAINTAINING HER PRIVACY: "I feel that, especially now, with the Internet and paparazzi and camera phones, it's so difficult to maintain mystery. And that's so important. Even in a relationship, I feel like not being that accessible is really important. If you think about Prince or Michael Jackson, or any superstars, you couldn't see them when they got off their planes or when they got out of the pool and didn't comb their hair. It's great that people see we're not perfect. But it's almost impossible to have superstars now, because people will never get enough. And it's not even about my music. It's about all the things that people imagine about me in their minds. But I can't satisfy everyone. I know that Jay and I probably do inspire people. And I appreciate people feeling proud. But this is the only way I've been able to stay sane, so why would I start talking now? [Not speaking] controls your brand. It controls what you want to put out there and kind of forces people to talk about what you want them to talk about. We decide everything. My word is my word. What Jay and I have is real. It's not about interviews or getting the right photo op. It's real."

The folks over there at Essence must have caught Beyonce when she was in a good mood because Mrs. Carter eventually revealed details about her and Jay's private wedding. Beyoncé tells the magazine that the wedding was very small and intimate, because she's not a "traditional" woman and having it be "her day" wasn't something she needed. Being a star and walking the red carpet has diminished the need for that over the years. "It's been my day so many days already," she told the magazine. She didn't want an engagement ring because "people put too much emphasis on that. It's just material, and it's just silly to me," she said. While she wouldn't discuss how Hova proposed, or even if he proposed ("We've been together a long time. We always knew it would happen," is all she would offer), Beyoncé did reveal this: They plan to have kids. Someday. And perhaps as soon as after she puts out this album.

Below are several outtakes from Bey's magazine shoot.
