NICK AND MARIAH REGISTER FOR WEDDING GIFTS.

Just because newlyweds Mariah and Nick Cannon happen to be millionaires, doesn't mean their gauche selves won't accept--or register--for wedding gifts. According to numerous reports, the new couple has registered at upscale New York City department store Bergdorf Goodman. The pair wed at Carey's home in the Bahamas in April (08) and they're only just getting round to thinking about presents which fans and friends can buy them after the whirlwind wedding. The 40-item wish list includes a 19th-century Moser vase, a Buccellati sterling silver picture frame and 24 Christofle Aria place settings, which sell for more than $2,100 each. According to In Touch magazine, the newlyweds are planning a lavish party to celebrate their wedding later this summer (2008). They play too damn much for me.

In related news, Mrs. Carey-Cannon has launched her second fragrance Luscious Pink by Mariah Carey, the follow-up to M by Mariah Carey. The fragrance is scheduled to arrive in stores in September (2008). The new scent will feature the bouquet of the Tahitian tiareflower and hints of lily of the valley, pink peony and white musk. Carey says, "Launching my first perfume was such an amazing experience that it has inspired me to expand my fragrance collection."

50 CENT EX-GIRLFRIEND/BABY MAMA SERVES THE RAPPER WITH A RESTRAINING ORDER.

Rap superstar 50 Cent has to stay away from the mother of his 11-year-old son after a temporary restraining order was granted by a judge on Friday (8.20.2008). Shaniqua Tompkins made the appeal, claiming she had been the recipient of numerous threats and was convinced they were made by the rapper's camp. And now the rapper - real name Curtis Jackson - is not permitted to be on any premises at the same time as Tompkins, although no distance is specified. Jackson has also been asked to forfeit any guns and other firearms in his possession (Hold up! If I'm not mistaken, as a convicted felon, 50 Cent isn't supposed to have any firearms in his possession....period!)and the order also states that any pick-up and drop-off of their son Marquise must be "at curbside". According to website TMZ.com, Tompkins' lawyer Paul Catsandonis, says that his client will be fighting for a permanent restraining order against the rapper next month (Jul08). Jackson and Tompkins have been locked in a bitter court battle for months, after he tried to evict them from the Long Island, New York mansion he owns. The property went up in flames last month (May08) in what police have called a "highly suspicious" inferno and Tompkins later allegedly accused the rapper of being behind the blaze. Jackson has since filed a defamation lawsuit against Tomkins .
