SISTER SOULJAH'S 'COLDEST WINTER EVER' SEQUEL 'MIDNIGHT: A GANGSTER LOVE STORY' BOOK COVER REVEALED. JUST DON'T JUDGE THE BOOK BY ITS COVER.

Avid readers such as myself, I'mma need yall to brace yourselves. In case you didn't know it or not, we're only six weeks away from the debut of Sister Souljah's Midnight: A Gangster Love Story, the much-anticipated (damn near 10 years in the making) sequel to her best-selling novel The Coldest Winter Ever. As I perused the book forum on LSA, I came upon a thread where the cover art for Midnight was posted. Check it out by clicking on the picture to your left. Like I said in the blog title, let's not judge the book by its cover. I mean, for real. In all reality Midnight (the main character in the sequel) would have to be at least in his mid to late thirties right about now, right? So why does the dude on the cover look as if he just started his sophomore year in high school?! That is not the business. Lord, we got to do better. When I close my eyes and picture Midnight, I see actors like Morris Chestnut, Lance Gross or Terrell Carter portraying him. Not young dude on the cover. Let's just pray that the contents of the book doesn't mirror it's 'what the hell was she thinking?!?' cover. Who knows? Maybe there's a big surprise waiting for us that could explain lil man. Everything in me tells me Sister Souljah will not let us down. Truth be told: I've already pre-ordered my copy through Amazon.com. So in essence, I really don't give a damn about the book cover. Okay, well maybe just a little bit, but not a whole lot. Besides, I've waited too long for this book! On the other hand, that doesn't mean that I don't think the cover's cheesy as hell!

Moving on. Now, I have yet to see an updated synopsis of the book, so check this post out to read what I do have. In the meantime and in between time what I do know is that the book will be distributed in hardcover and will be released nationally on Tuesday, November 4th. And needless to say, I can't wait!!

Angela Simmons celebrated her 21st birthday last night at Butter in NYC. Although her boo Bow Wow wasn't in attendance, other celebrities such as DJ Clue, Evan Ross, Dawn from Danity Kane and D-Wade stopped through. Angela's big sis, Vanessa and their brother Jo Jo were also in attendance. He might as well get as much camera time as possible considering he and his band/group/trio/whatever BlackOut sold a whopping less than 300 copies of their debut album....or so I heard.

The ever-so fine Blair Underwood was spotted signing autographs for fans as he left the ABC studios after making an appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly in NYC on September 16th.

It's funny how he stay talking sh!t about any and every thing then turns around and get caught stepping in it. Don't be surprised if in the near future you see a new bodyguard take the place of this one because dude obviously wasn't doing his job. Yall know how Diddy is.

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL RIHANNA TO STOP LYING? SINGER CLAIMS SHE'S 'LONELY' AND DOESN'T HAVE TIME TO DATE.

This heffah here....!! This girl has the nerve, the gall and the audacity to say that life on the road is really 'lonely' for her. Now, yes, we all know that although Rihanna and Chris have yet to confirm their relationship, even Stevie Wonder can see that they're dating. So her playing this 'woe is me, I'm single and so lonely and I don't have any time to date anyone' card gets my goat something proper-like. In a recent interview, Rihanna stated, "It's not all honey and treacle (that's 'peaches and cream' for those of us who didn't know what the hell 'treacle' meant). I've had no more than seven days off in the past 18 months. My schedule is punishing. And I do get lonely sitting around in hotels in cities I don't know. I don't have time to date."

Oh, really now Rihanna? So allllllllllllllllll those photos of them jet skiing in Maryland and Barbados with her family, skateboarding in NYC (last week, I might add), chilling in a jacuzzi clubbing and then leaving clubs together here in the States as well as overseas, her visits to him on his movie sets just last week, his visits to her on the set of her music video just late last month, snuggled up and liplocking in Kentucky Fried Chicken and Popeyes, attending amusement parks in California, frolicking and liplocking in a swimming pool like young lovers while in Jamaica, walking hand in hand on the beaches of Cancun, grocery food shopping/clothes shopping together in Hollywood and New York City were all just for show? What was that about...because all of that happened in the last seven months. I swear to God she better stop playing with me this Friday evening.

Girl, just shut up and don't say nothing. I spent damn near 20 minutes trying to find a pic to post with this blog entry but had a hard time because there are so many candid pics of her and Chris to choose from. And she talking 'bout she lonely?! Yeah, you lonely: in your mind.

MASTER P.'S 'MILLER PEACHES' TO GIVE NELLY'S 'APPLEBOTTOMS' SOME COMPETITION. NELLY'S NEW 'SKYBOX' TO RIVAL JAY-Z'S '40/40' CLUB?

Master P....excuse me, I meant Percy Miller as he likes to be referred to these days, is on his way to giving Nelly's Applebottoms clothing line a run for its money when he launches his new women and girls clothing line called---wait for it---Miller Peaches. According to SOHH.com, the line, which will retail for anywhere between $10-$20 dollars, (damn, that's cheap!) will specialize in stretch denim for women with curvier physiques. And all you big, voluptuous women need not fret; Percy's line will also cater to plus-sizes. "P. Miller truly is a complete lifestyle brand, which now includes P. Miller Designs for young men, Miller Peaches for young women, Kids, Shoes and Accessories lines," Miller said in a statement. "This brand seeks to clothe the entire family from head to toe and target the African American and Hispanic minority customers and make history by being a quality, affordable, urban lifestyle brand for the community." Miller Peaches is expected to be sold in Wal-Mart's nationwide, alongside other P. Miller Designs. And like Nelly, Percy will also search the nation in finding the most suitable spokesmodel for his new clothing line. The nationwide search will take place via his Better Black TV Network. For those of you interested, P. Miller asks, "We are looking for The Miller Peaches Great American Girl... is it you? Tell us what makes you The Miller Peaches Great American Girl for a chance at an opportunity with our national advertising campaign for Miller Peaches clothing." Good grief.

Speaking of Nelly, it looks as if he's on his way to giving Jay-Z a run for his money in the real estate development department. Nelly's currently working on adding property developer to his packed resume, after launching a new project in his hometown of St Louis, Missouri. The rapper already owns Vokal clothing for men and Applebottoms for women, as well as a range of energy drinks...and now he is venturing into the hospitality industry. He told TheBoomBox.com, "This development company that I have back home, I’ve purchased a city block in downtown St. Louis. I have an new sports bar called Skybox." But Nelly insists he's not quite ready to challenge hip-hop heavyweight and business mogul Jay-Z, who has a chain of 40/40 bars. He adds, "You know it’s not a 40/40, more like a 20/20 you know, but just tryin' to stay busy."

Rapper Young Jock celebrated his 28th birthday with a big 'Joc of Spades' bash at Club 595 in New York City last week. As far as celebrities that attended: none that I could identify. However, Flavor of Love 2 contestant and lower case h-list (because she's nowhere near being even a D-List celebrity) semi-celebrity Shay 'Buckeey' Johnson was in attendance. Peep the pics below.
