Trick Daddy ain't the only Miami rapper who loves the kids. I told you all in an earlier post that Trina had teamed up with the Checkers Drive-In Restaurant chain to grant 2 deserving inner city kids the chance to go on a shopping spree with the Miami rapper at a local mall. Over the weekend, Trina participated in a meet-and-greet at a Checkers location in Liberty City, Florida where she conducted the random drawing. During the meet and greet, the other kids delighted themselves in a myriad of activities including bounces houses, face painting, live music, a burger eating contest with $250 being the grand prize, ticket giveaways to the Homestead Motor Speedway and a Miami Heat 6 game pack giveaway.

REAL OR RUMOR: NO USHER ALBUM ANYTIME SOON DUE TO 'ISSUES IN HIS PERSONAL LIFE.'

*SMH* Usher, Usher, Usher. Didn't I tell yall several days ago, that we'd never hear another album from Usher anytime soon...or possibly never? Therefore and thus such, for any fans or admirers of Mr. Entertainment who were intent on holding their breath waiting for his newest musical project, please take this time to exhale. Because it ain't gon happen.

According to Page Six, industry insiders are claiming that although the R&B star had been planning to drop a record next month, "it's not happening anymore" due to "issues in his personal life" relating to new wife Tameka Foster. According to the source, "Usher only listens to Tameka now, and she wants all Usher's focus to be on her and the baby."

The couple, who wed in August, are expecting later this year. Bailing on the album may not have been a wise decision on his part, however, especially because other money-making ventures - like the launch of his new fragrances - were scheduled to coincide with the new disc. "The album had been in the works for over a year," the insider dished. "He put it on the back burner when Tameka got pregnant...now it looks like it's never going to happen."

Usher's reps did not return multiple calls for comment.

What baffles me is that dude knew his old lady was expecting. Why in the world would he make an announcement saying he's going to release another album when he knew he had a baby on the way...and that there was no way in hell Tameka would allow him to do so? I say allow because that's what the hell I mean. Some of yall know it too. Shame on him for making all of these plans and announcements about what he was gonna do--or wanted--to do without first seeking that old walking negro spiritual's consent.

DAVE CHAPPELLE BLASTS HIMSELF REGARDING THOSE CRACK RUMORS AFTER HIS EXIT FROM COMEDY CENTRAL.

Dave Chappelle took the stage at the Comedy Cellar in New York's West Village Saturday night and joked about those headline-making rumors that suggested his mysterious Comedy Central exit was due to a crack habit. "I'm a skinny black dude, so I couldn't defend myself!" he told the crowd, according to the New York Daily News. One audience member said he should've read "The Secret" to get through the drama of his dramatic departure from the $50 million Comedy Central contract.

"Positive imagery? That's the secret?" asked Chappelle. "Go to Africa and tell some starving kids that s**t."

MC HAMMER DISPELS DEATH RUMORS: 'FAR FROM DEAD, I'M POPPING MY COLLAR, MAN!' --PROMOTES HIS NEWEST GIG.

When I came home a couple of hours ago to check today's top celeb news stories, I almost had a coronary episode after reading an article claiming MC Hammer (real name, Stanley Burrell) had been struck and killed in a hit-and-run accident earlier today. I said to myself, 'This is so sad. Hammer was a true pioneer as well as an iconic innovator in the world of rap music.' Coincidentally, yesterday a couple of members on The Crusade, myself included, were discussing the issue of Hammer being honored and inducted into VH1's Hip Hop Honors; and how he deserved to be acknowledged before recently inducted artists such as Missy and Snoop Dog. That's real talk.

Anyway, I should've known something was amiss when one article stated the rapper had 'passed away today in a Baltimore hospital room outside a Tribe Called Quest show in New Jersey last night, the singer was struck by a car passing by the front of the Ventura Theatre. Hammer was rushed to St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, where he was pronounced dead this morning at 6am.'

I don't think I need to elaborate any further.

Long story short, Stanley Burrell, the rapper, isn't dead. As a matter of fact, another man who shares the same birth name as Hammer, recently passed away. Hammer posted a statement on his official blog to address the rumors. He said: "Far from dead. I'm popin' my collar man!! smile have fun....enjoy life and Dance baby!!!...I heard the rumor..paused, gathered my thoughts and thanked my Lord and Savior that his word and promises are true. I have not completed my mission and I have yet to take my place in a light and place that you can clearly see (know) and understand me.... I take this moment to declare that the God that gave me life, has not required that breath to return unto him... That same breath has his eternal Holy spirit in it. There is none that walks the earth or has fallen from heaven that has the authority to require my life. I am his. The CHRIST...GLORY TO HIS NAME!!!!! I also claim healing and deliverance in his name (Jesus)."

Hammer's reps told tmz.com that he is in the process of resurrecting his career and promoting his newest gig by creating a new website called Dance/Jam where folks can upload videos of themselves dancing. Hammer will critique the submitted dance routines and then rate them. WHAT THE HELL FOR?! I love Hammer like an alcoholic loves gin and juice without the juice, but the purpose of his new gig has completely flown over my head.

Hammer is famous for late 80s and early 90s hits such as Let's Get It Started, Turn This Mutha Out, U Can't Touch This and Too Legit. Hammer's 2nd album, Please, Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em, was the first hip-hop album to reach diamond status, selling more than 10 million units. But with the highs came the lows. The extreme lows. Because of dwindling album sales and a lavish lifestyle, Hammer, who was $13 million in debt, filed for bankruptcy on April 3, 1996. During a guest appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1997, he openly admitted to squandering away nearly $20 million of the $33 million he amassed throughout his career.

Where's Hammer now? The hell if I know.

*UPDATE* BOBBY BROWN DENIES HAVING MILD HEART ATTACK: 'I DON'T KNOW WHERE THAT HEART ATTACK THING CAME FROM.'

Bobby Brown denied Wednesday that he had a mild heart attack, something his attorney said earlier he had suffered this week in Los Angeles. The 38-year-old singer told Associated Press Radio that he is feeling fine and went to the hospital just for a checkup. "None of it's true," Brown said. "I went in for a checkup. The doc gave me a clean bill of health."

His account differed from that of his Atlanta attorney, Phaedra Parks, who earlier in the day told The Associated Press that Brown had severe chest pains Tuesday night and was taken to two hospitals. "This morning they did diagnose him as suffering from a mild heart attack ... they attributed to stress and diet," Parks said, noting that she had spoken with him. She said Brown was released Wednesday morning from a hospital in good condition.

Parks could not be reached for comment after Brown made his statements. She did not immediately respond to a telephone and an e-mail message.

Brown, who has a performance scheduled Saturday in Los Angeles, said that the reports about him having a heart attack gave him a "jolt" and that he felt he had to speak out. "I did go to the hospital ... to just get a checkup, get everything tested out so that I could go on this tour, and everything is fine," Brown said. "I don't know where the heart attack thing came from," Brown said. "I got my heart and everything checked out earlier this morning, and I'm just fine."

From the looks of things, that black cloud that has been hovering her Bobby Brown's head refuses to go anywhere anytime soon. However, Bobby Brown's in high spirits and hopes to perform this weekend after suffering a mild heart attack Tuesday, says his lawyer, Phaedra Parks. Brown's girlfriend/manager, Alicia, drove the 38-year-old singer to Tarzana Regional Medical Center after the singer, who is now living with his father in Tarzana, California, felt tightening in his chest and tingling in his arm. "He has been examined, and doctors determined there is no blockage but inflammation of the heart." Parks says. Parks also said Brown's doctors attributed the singer's 'heart attack scare' was brought on by 'stress and diet.' Mmmm-hmmm. I guess they chose to overlook the fact that Brown also has a lengthy history of chronic drug and alcohol abuse. Several years ago, Bobby said that he had been diagnosed as being bi-polar. Man, you ain't bi-polar. Your ass buy weed, crack rocks 8 balls, and liquor.

Anyway, Brown, spoke to Lee Bailey of EURWEB from his hospital bed Wednesday afternoon before being released. "Everything's all right with me. I got a clean bill of health and everything's fine," he says. "I'm ready to get on this road and do these shows and take care of what I gotta take care of." I know that's right. Cause Lord knows you need the money.

Brown, who had not experienced heart problems before, is booked to perform at the V100 Taste of Soul concert and festival in Los Angeles on October 13th and still planned to take the stage. However, Parks says it isn't clear yet if he will be able to do so. "We thank everybody for their thoughts and prayers. We really appreciate the outpouring of support."

In addition to his new medical problem, Brown is in the midst of an ongoing divorce and custody proceeding with Whitney Houston, 44. The two are expected in an Orange County, Calif., court on Oct. 22.

Sean "Diddy" Combs took his 10-month old twins (D'Lila Star and Jessie James), their big brother, Chrisitan, and their mom, Combs on-again/off-again girlfriend Kim Porter on a splurging shopping spree at Kitson's Kids in Los Angeles. While on the shopping spree, one of the Diddy's darlings got a hold of daddy's American Express Platinum card...and let's just say by the way her eyes lit up, she knew exactly what she was looking at! Not even a year old and she's already recognizing the finest things life has to offer. Is this just the beginning of what he has to look forward to? Oh, and don't think Diddy the six-times-a-Daddy left the block without spending some dough on himself. Sources say he conveniently strolled up to the Kitson Men store up the street where he dropped over $2,000 on his damn self.

In other Diddy news, the mega-mogul is reportedly showing his support for the Spice Girls' reunion tour by donating an $8 million fleet of buses to them. He decided to design bullet-proof buses covered in jewels for his friend Victoria Beckham and her four band mates Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm. A friend said "He wants the girls to go in style and he knows how to do that." The Spice Girls will begin their world tour in Los Angeles in December.
