NEW PICS: STEVE HARVEY'S 2008 6th ANNUAL HOODIE AWARDS.

Steve Harvey's 6th annual Hoodie Awards (short for Neighborhood Awards) took place last weekend at the Orleans Arena in the Orleans Hotel and Casino Las Vegas. The Hoodie Awards, which was created by Steve, is considered the awards show for the 'people.' As a matter of fact it's the only awards show where celebrities (from the A-list to the Z-list, respectively) not only give awards to other celebrities, but also honor and hand out awards to us civilians who provide extraordinary services to people in our communities by acknowledging local business establishments, religious and community leaders, churches and high schools for their contributions and excellence within various neighborhoods. Some of the categories include Best Barber Shop, Best Gospel Choir, Best Hair Salon, Best High School Teacher, Best Soul Food Place, Best Car Wash/Detail Shop, Best Nail Salon, Best Fried Chicken Place (stop laughing yall) as well as the The Best Community Leader just to name a few. I actually heard someone say the Hoodies is quickly becoming as popular as the Soul Train Awards. Whether the person who said it was trying to facetious or not is still a mystery. Especially since it's been a couple of years since we've seen a Soul Train Awards broadcast. Steve, once described the Hoodies as the urban/hood version of the Oscars with a twist. I would ask Steve to stop playing with me if Barack Obama hadn't deemed this event worthy enough to make a surprise call during the taping to commend Steve on executing such a positive event.

Anyhoo, celebrities who attended this year's awards show included: Steve Harvey with is wife Marjorie, Wendy Raquel Robinson (Steve's former The Steve Harvey Show castmate), Patti LaBelle, Regina King, Dwele, Cupid, comedian Bruce Bruce, Kirk Franklin (with his wife Tammy), LisaRaye's rival Rocsi, Judge Greg Mathis, House of Payne stars LaVan Davis and Cassi Davis, Steve's radio show co-hosts Shirley Strawberry and Carla Ferrell, comedienne Sommore, Dr. Ian Smith and more.

RANDOM CELEB PIC: REGINA KING & HER SON, IAN VASELINE AD BEHIND-THE-SCENES PHOTOSHOOT.

Actress Regina King and her 10-year-old son, Ian, take a break during a photo shoot for Vaseline's 'Skin is Amazing' campaign (click on pic to see its full image). The campaign benefits the Coalition of Skin Diseases, an organization that advocates on behalf of individuals with skin disease by supporting clinical research while improving their quality of life.

King, who recently starred in the movie This Christmas, posed with her son to symbolize the protective nature of skin. 'The first one was both of us holding each other's hands and it was showing that protection that a parent has for a child,' she says. 'It's so hard to explain the first time you touch your child-it's the best experience. And you're always checking if their skin is nice and bright and glowy; then you know everything is alright.'

CAST MEMBERS OF 'THIS CHRISTMAS' & 'PERFECT HOLIDAY' DESCRIBE THEIR 'PERFECT CHRISTMAS.'

Ever wanted to know (or may be just wondered) which celebrities, who seem to have it all, describe as their perfect Christmas and how they intend to make it happen? Well, while searching the Internet I came across a list of cast members--from This Christmas and [that God-awful] Perfect Holiday; 2 holiday movies (released nearly back-to-back) each featuring a black ensemble cast--and in the list below, they each revealed what a perfect holiday season means to them. Some answers may surprise you while others may make you want to say 'Ah, bah, humbug!' and 'Say WHAT?!!'

Now, I'm no celebrity by any means, and no, even though Christmas is literally right around the corner, no one has thought of me enough to ask me what would make my holiday season complete; therefore and thus and such, consider my answer as my Christmas gift to you all. That's the only thing I can afford to give yall right about now! *clearing throat* As far as I'm concerned, the answer's quite simple: A perfect holiday season isn't a perfect holiday season unless you're spending it by surrounding yourself with the ones you love and cherish the most. And that's real talk too! LOL! Peep the list below and find out what Lauren London, Morris Chestnut, Gabrielle Union, Idris Elba, Chris Brown and others had to say.

COLUMBUS SHORT (This Christmas) "A perfect Christmas is one where I'm breathing."

IDRIS ELBA (This Christmas) - "A perfect Christmas is being able to buy my daughter a wicked present and sitting on a beach in Jamaica with my family."

SHARON LEAL (This Christmas) - "What makes it perfect is getting everybody you love and care about together. I'm married with a six-year-old, so it's about family."

GABRIELLE UNION (Perfect Holiday) - "I'm going to South Africa with a travel show and a bunch of girlfriends."

MORRIS CHESTNUT (Perfect Holiday) - "I want people to enjoy the holidays. So many people in my family don't enjoy the holidays. That's what I want."

LORETTA DEVINE (This Christmas) - "When I think of Christmas, I think about when I was doing Dreamgirls on Broadway and I'd go home to Houston and be Santa Claus to all my nieces and nephews. I was the big kahuna. That was great for me."

l REGINA KING (This Christmas) - "It's about family for me. I remember when I was nine-years-old, I got a Barbie Camper. That was a perfect Christmas. This year it would be not to have the threat of global warming."

DELROY LINDO (This Christmas) - "I'd say the coming together of people makes it perfect. I have a six-year-old son and the most important thing to convey to him has to do with the fact that it's about Christmas and coming together to share."

CHRIS BROWN (This Christmas)- "A perfect Christmas is relaxation and going home to chill."

MEKHI PHIFER (This Christmas) - "I get to go home and see everybody in New York."

LAUREN LONDON (This Christmas) - "I remember when I was about 11-years-old, we were all happy. I think my presents came from the 99 cents store. We didn't really get much that year."

REGINA KING EXPLAINS CAREER SACRIFICES SHE MADE AS A SINGLE MOTHER.

In her new film This Christmas, Regina King plays the part of a wife trapped in a bad marriage, who remains in the relationship for far too long. The role was somewhat familiar territory for the 36-year-old actress, who says that she could identify with the character. "The one thing I could relate to was staying in a situation way too long. The thinking that you're staying in a situation -- for me because of my son -- and you're losing a part of yourself as you're fooling yourself into thinking that a bad situation is worth something."

Mom to 11-year-old Ian Jr. with ex-husband Ian Alexander Sr., from whom Regina filed for divorce last year, Regina says she turns down all film offers that would take her away from her son for more than one week during the school year. Ending her marriage of ten years is a decision that Regina says she doesn't regret. "I think it is definitely difficult for any professional being a mother, and a single one at that. It's hard not having a partner to raise your child. It's difficult, but far from impossible and we smile more than we cry."

Now 36, King started acting at the age of 13, when she landed the role of Brenda in the TV show 227 in 1985. She has a filmography with more than 30 credits, including roles in Boyz N the Hood, Jerry Maguire, Enemy of the State, Ray, and A Cinderella Story. She has also appeared again on the small screen in 24 and as the voices of Huey and Riley Freeman in The Boondocks on Cartoon Network.

"My mom never put me in a performing arts school. I always went to a public school, so I was able to stay grounded because I had no choice," she said. "When your graduating class is 500 and the entire school population is close to 3,000 -- that was a pretty good thing to keep me centered."

This Christmas opened Nov. 21.
