PICS: ADIDAS CREATES SPECIAL EDITION SHOE, THE JAM MASTER JAY' SNEAKERS TO COMMEMORATE 5th ANNIV. OF HIS DEATH.

Earlier this week, I posted an article on the status of the investigation regarding the senseless murder of Run-DMC's Jam Master Jay. And although no new information has surfaced, his memory and legacy continues to lives on. So much so that Adidas will release a special edition sneaker to mark the fifth anniversary of the death of the turntable extraordinaire. According to Complex magazine, the shoe company crafted four pairs of footwear as part of the Nov. 29 J.A.M. Awards, a special benefit concert that focuses on rap's social responsibility. Run DMC paid homage to the shoe maker in their 1986 anthem My Adidas, which was released from the album, Raising Hell. The Jam Master Jay sneakers will be available in an original Ultrastar and three Brougham models, each featuring the Run DMC member's face on the shoe's tongue. The product will sell exclusively through Footaction later this month for $70-$80.

Jay, born Jason Mizell, was shot and killed in a Merrick Blvd. recording studio in Queens, New York on Oct. 30, 2002. He is survived by his wife Terri and three children.

THE INFAMOUS 'JACOB THE JEWELER' TO SERVE 2.5 YEARS IN FED PRISON FOR HIS INVOLVEMENT IN THE 'BLACK MAFIA FAMILY RING.'

Jacob Arabov, better known to bling-loving celebrities as "Jacob the Jeweler," has pleaded guilty to falsifying records and giving false statements to investigators looking into a multi-state drug ring. Terms of the plea deal, entered Wednesday in New York, calls for Arabov to serve up to 46 months in prison and pay a $2 million penalty, U.S. Attorney Stephen J. Murphy said in a news release. In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss the money laundering charges, according to Arabov's attorney, Benjamin Brafman. "I realize I have made a terrible mistake and I accept the consequences of my actions," Arabov said in a news release issued through Brafman.

As previously reported, Arabov, 42, was arrested in June 2006 after authorities accused him and others of conspiring to launder about $270 million in drug profits for the Detroit-based "Black Mafia Family" ring, which had been active since the early 1990s. The seven-year investigation resulted in the indictments of Arabov and 41 other people. Twenty-eight have pleaded guilty, eight are scheduled for trial Nov. 19 and the whereabouts of six others are unknown.

Federal authorities have said about 1,100 pounds of cocaine and $19 million in cash and other assets were seized beginning in 2000.

NEW COUPLE ALERT: IS NICK CANNON WINING AND DINING THE CURRENT REIGNING MISS USA, RACHEL SMITH?

Um, what the hell is wrong with Nick Cannon? Dude jumps in and out of relationships more than females. And that is not a good look. Trust. Within the past 2 years, he has gone from dating Christina Milian to Kim Kardashian (which didn't last long) to popping the big question in front of thousands to Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks before freezing her finger with a 15 carat diamond engagement ring (after only dating her for 4 months). And now, according to OK! magazine, 27-year-old rapper/actor, who recently severed his impending nuptials with the supermodel, has already moved on and is reportedly dating reigning Miss USA Rachel Smith. The magazine says Cannon and the 22-year-old beauty queen--who bears a similar resemblance to Nick's ex--were spotted a couple of week's ago enjoying each other's company at MTV's Pageant Place reality show wrap party at New York City hotspot, Tenjune before leaving together hand in hand.

Just last week, sources revealed details to the New York Post that Cannon has sent his new love (for the moment) several dozen roses, chocolates and balloons. Also, the hallway outside of her apartment door has been flooded with gifts from the actor – each containing a different personalized, handwritten note. No word yet if Smith has responded to any of his advances.

I can't wait until the new season of Wild 'N Out starts. I'll bet dollars to donuts that Mikey, DeRay, 'What my name is, Shawty!' and Spanky are gonna blast his ass out something proper-like! LOL! And for those of you who can't remember who Rachel Smith is, she's the Miss USA who fell flat on her patootie at the Miss Universe pageant earlier this year. Watch the video below.

NEW CELEB PICS: DAUGHTERS OF MEN: PORTRAITS OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN WOMEN & THEIR FATHERS' BOOK LAUNCH PARTY.

In the tradition of Carol Ross's recently released Pop, a new volume, Daughters of Men: Portraits of African-American Women and their Fathers, gives props to good Black fathers. Rachel Vassel, a former Weather Channel executive, reached out to nearly 40 women, including, superstar Beyonce, actresses Sanaa Lathan, Malinda Wiliams, Megan Good, and recording artist Brandy and photographed them with their fathers. The result is a stunning testament to the Black father-daughter bond. Whether it’s a father who mentors his daughter’s artistic eye by taking her to cultural events or one who unwaveringly supports a risky career move, the fathers in this book each had his own unique and successful style of parenting.

The first book to showcase the importance of the black father’s impact on the accomplishments of his daughter, Daughters of Men provides an intimate look at black fatherhood and the many ways fathers have a lasting impact on their daughters’ lives. The book also has a special place in its author's heart. She just recently connected with her own father after a separation. Says Vassel, 38, who is a filmmaker in Atlanta: "I've always admired dads. This book is really full circle for me as my father is a part of my life again.'
