JILL MARIE JONES NEWS, EVENT PICTURES, PHOTOSHOOT.

If you read this blog regularly or know me personally you also know that I am a big Girlfriends fan. And any and every real Girlfriends fan has their favorite. Without an iota of a doubt, Toni Childs Garrett (played by actress Jill Marie Jones)character was my absolute favorite. Since her sudden exit as the most feisty, best-dressed, love-to-hate, tell-it-like-it-is Girlfriend on sitcom television, Jill Marie Jones has made a lukewarm leap into film. Last winter, she starred alongside Gabrielle Union, Morris Chestnut, Rachel True, Charlie Murphy and Katt Williams in the Christmas flop of the season, Perfect Holiday. In August of 2008, she played Ice Cube's love interest in the well received The Longshots which also starred Keke Palmer and Tasha Smith. Just recently, the actress was cast in Drool. The dark comedy revolves around an abused wife (played by Laura Harring) whose plan to escape with a friend, played by Jones, goes awry when she accidentally kills her husband (Oded Fehr), leading the pair to drive the body cross-country. The movie is slated for a 2009 release.

Even though Jill has yet to have her named pegged to a blockbuster movie, the actress takes her film work very seriously. She recently told Clutch magazine her dream role would be to play her former-Girlfriends' castmate's (Tracee Ellis Ross) mother, Diana Ross! Jill says, "She’s literally one of the reasons I’m an actress. She’s the first brown woman I saw as an actress. When I saw her I knew it was possible." Now ain't that something?!

Below are pictures of Jill with Deelishis and actors Hosea Chanchez and Kellita Smith at Baltimore Ravens' Terrell Suggs’ Team Sizzle Celebrity Weekend luncheon honoring Sickle Cell patients last weekend. Suggs' hosted the event in conjunction with his newly formed entertainment company, Team Sizzle Worldwide. Ticket sale proceeds will help all "Imagine a World Without Sickle Cell" by benefiting the William E. Proudford Sickle Cell Fund, Inc.

I also dug up a summer photoshoot Jill did with Rolling Out magazine. You can peep those below.

Actors Robin Givens, Duane Martin, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Penny Marshall and former NBA players Rick Fox, Jalen Rose and Chris Paul (who currently plays for the New Orleans Hornets) all guest-star as themselves in tomorrow's (October 31, 2008)all new episode (aptly titled Delectable Basket of Treats) of The Game. In last week's episode, we saw Malik (Hosea Chanchez)take the reins in hopes of helping Robin save face after the media learns of their marriage and deem it as a publicity stunt. In this week's episode, hoping to get more publicity for their celebrity marriage, Robin and Malik plan a belated wedding reception, but his mother, Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) decides to boycott the party since she believes their marriage is a sham and won't support it. At the reception, Derwin (Pooch Hall) and Melanie (Tia Mowry) must face the reality of their complicated relationship after many people mistakenly congratulate Melanie on her pregnancy. Meanwhile, Rick reluctantly introduces Tasha to his overly protective mother (guest star Penny Marshall), causing fireworks to ensue between the two headstrong women. Brittany Daniel ('Kelly Pitts') and Coby Bell ('Jason Pitts') also star.

However, judging by the stills, it looks like the two who were at odds with each other kissed and made up! Peep episode stills below. Click on each one to see its full image.

REAL OR RUMOR: TYLER PERRY ACCUSED OF BEING A MALE DIVA?

Movie mogul Tyler Perry has brushed off reports he demands co-workers to call him by his last name if they want a response - insisting the moniker is used by the cast and crew out of "respect". The 39-year-old actor/director has come under fire for his inflated ego on the set of his television sitcom Tyler Perry's House of Payne, created and produced by the star since 2006. A source tells the New York Post: "Tyler makes everyone on his staff - the crew and cast - call him 'Mr. Perry' to his face. He won't respond to anyone who calls him Tyler." But his spokesperson insists the reports are made up, adding: "That's totally preposterous. I call him Tyler. Some people do call him 'Mr. Perry,' but it's out of respect."

I honestly don't see the big deal. This man is signing their paychecks. I'd address him as Mr. Perry, too, and anything else he wanted me to call him...long as I get my damn check! Besides it's the professional thing to do.

NEW PICS: THE BITTERSWEET MOVIE PREMIERE OF 'SOUL MEN.'

Samuel L. Jackson walked the red carpet with the cast of Soul Men at the world-famous Apollo Theater in Harlem Tuesday night. While it was a night for celebration the memories of co-stars Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes -- was foremost on people's minds. "This is in my opinion the perfect last film for Bernie," said Sam. "We see him do something we've never seen him do -- sing and dance. I hope everybody's excited about it -- it's such a wonderful film. Getting up every day and seeing Bernie -- he was like the funniest grumpy old man in the world; we loved him." It was definitely a family affair on the red carpet, and relatives of both Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes came out to support their Soul Men performances. Bernie's wife Rhonda, daughter J'Neice and grandbaby Jasmine came in from Chicago, and J'Neice reflected, "I just remember growing up laughing with [my dad], and just him always being my protector." As for Jennifer Hudson, a fellow Chicagoan, she said, "I reached out to her yesterday to let her know that my prayers are with her."

In theaters November 7, Soul Men finds Sam and Bernie singing and dancing as a pair of backup soul singers who haven't spoken to each other in 20 years. But when they're invited to perform at a tribute concert for their famous former band leader, the two curmudgeons reluctantly agree to travel cross country together for the honor. The film culminates at the Apollo Theater.
