DMX 'S NEW GIG? GETTING ARRESTED EVERY WEEK.

Looks like DMX has made getting arrested a weekly routine. When my sister brought this story to my attention I honestly could not believe it. What's even worst is the fact that he was busted in front of a crowd of people outside a Wal-Mart SuperCenter in Miami, Florida on Thursday afternoon....which was all caught on tape. Miami-Dade PD arrested the rapper, real name Earl Simmons, on an outstanding warrant for skipping another court date in Arizona related to his pending animal-cruelty and drug-possession case. Although DMX's attorney public defender did appear on his client's behalf Tuesday afternoon to provide documentation that his client couldn't make it because he was hospitalized in Miami (he wouldn't say why, though), the judge opted to issue a bench warrant anyway and raised his bond to $25,000. The lawyer wouldn't comment on reports that DMX is in rehab, although he did say that the Cradle 2 the Grave star's camp is "working towards getting him some help, and we hope that will be taken seriously by all parties in this case."

Also asked why a man of DMX's presumed financial stature needs a public defender (the whole "if you can't afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you" part of the Miranda Rights), Kozelka would only say: "He qualified for us, and he feels comfortable with me." At the time, Kozelka was still hoping that his client could avoid yet another smear on his rap sheet. Good luck with that.

"We are in court again next week on other matters, and my hope is we can get the warrant resolved by then and get back on track," he said. "We have some things in the works to get the warrant taken care of. My hope is that we can resolve it without an arrest, but he's been arrested at the airport before, so they obviously have an eye out for him, so I'm not sure."

In addition to an Aug. 19 court date related to his aforementioned pit bulls and pot case, DMX is due in court Aug. 26 to answer to identify-theft charges for allegedly trying to get out of paying a Scottsdale, Ariz., hospital bill by posing as someone else.

He was also arrested twice in one week during a June trip to Miami, once for driving with an invalid license and a few days later for allegedly trying to buy a small amount of marijuana and cocaine from an undercover cop.

RAPPER DMX ARRESTED FOR THE SECOND TIME IN ONE WEEK.

I mean, really. Rapper DMX has been arrested in Miami, Florida for the second time in a week - after he was allegedly caught trying to buy drugs from an undercover police officer. The star - real name Earl Simmons - was arrested on Monday, June 23, on suspicion of driving without a valid licence and later released on bail. But just four days later, Simmons landed himself in trouble with the law again. The hip-hop star was arrested on Friday, June 26, for allegedly attempting to purchase $45 of cocaine and marijuana from a man, who turned out to be a cop taking part in a sting operation. Simmons is currently being detained at Miami-Dade County jail, according to Allhiphop.com.

The star's legal woes this year are beginning to mount - he was charged with suspected drug possession and animal cruelty in May following raids on his Arizona home. And previous to that incident he was arrested for allegedly speeding down a Phoenix, Arizona freeway in January, clocking up a reported 114 miles per hour.

SHANTE BROADUS, WIFE OF SNOOP DOGG, ARRESTED FOR DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL.

Now that's a mug shot! Looks like Snoop Dogg will be spending his father's day looking at his wife Shante and wondering, 'What the hell is wrong with this chick?' According to the Associate Press, police in Orange County arrested Shante for driving under the influence of alcohol. Fullerton police Lt. Craig Brower says officers stopped 32-year-old Shante Broadus of Sherman Oaks about 12:15 a.m. Saturday and took her to jail. She was cited and then released pending a court appearance. Brower says nobody else was in the car but he didn't have any other details.

Broadus and Snoop Dogg - whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr. - were married in 1997 and have three children. A message left with Snoop Dogg's publicist was not immediately returned.

NEW YORK JUDGE WANTS FOXY BACK IN JAIL; ISSUES ARREST WARRANT ON RAPPER FOR FAILURE TO APPEAR AT COURT HEARING.

I knew it was a matter of time before I'd be able to use the picture on the left (Thanks RoyaleWithCheese!). I also knew Foxy Brown won't be satisfied until she's back at Rikers Island bunking with Remy Ma. A New York judge has issued a warrant for rapper Brown's arrest, after she failed to turn up to court to face allegations of assault, in relation to an incident last year. The emcee, real name Inga Marchand, is accused of hitting 25-year-old Arlene Raymond with her Blackberry cell phone in Brooklyn on July 30, 2007, when a heated argument between the two got out of hand. Raymond was taken to Brooklyn Hospital following the incident, and was treated for loose teeth and swelling around her lip and right eye. Brown was subsequently charged with felony assault, menacing, harassment and criminal possession of a weapon when she turned herself into police. She was released on bail and pleaded not guilty to the counts in October (2007). But Brown failed to show for her latest court date at Brooklyn Criminal Court today (Monday, 5.5.2008), and, as a result, a judge has called for the star's arrest. Brown's own defense attorney admitted he didn't know of her whereabouts and had not heard from her recently.

Meanwhile, Raymond has filed suit against Brown for unspecified damages connected to the alleged assault. The hip-hop star was recently (April 2008) released from New York's Riker's Island Prison after serving eight months of a 12-month sentence for probation violations.

ACTOR GARY DOURDAN ISSUES PUBLIC APOLOGY TO FANS IN WAKE OF HIS DRUG ARREST LAST WEEK.

Actor Gary Dourdan is running damage control in the wake of his drug possession arrest last week. Dourdan is planning a series of events to "get the word out that you don't need a bunch of nasty chemicals to have a good time." The actor was apprehended by police in Palm Springs, California after he was found asleep in his incorrectly parked car after attending the Coachella Festival. Dourdan hopes to announce his plans by the time he is arraigned on 28 May (08). The CSI: Crime Scene Investigator star has already apologized publicly to fans. "Obviously I am embarrassed to find myself in this situation, and I am profoundly grateful to everyone for their support," Dourdan said in a statement to PEOPLE. "I have complete confidence in and respect for the justice system and will cooperate fully with any investigation. I certainly wish I hadn’t been responsible for so many people getting to the festival’s VIP area,” Dourdan wrote, referring to the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. “And the after party, it ran me ragged, but I’m glad pulling over did prevent a DUI.” He also goes on to say, “I am blessed that the Sgt. realized that the luggage carrying whatever they found was not mine and that my tests have been coming back negative.”

Dourdan was found in possession of suspected cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and prescription pills, police say. He posted $5,000 bail and was released. Dourdan returned to work on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation shortly after his arrest.

R&B SINGER TANK GETS TASED & ARRESTED IN 'NAWLINS; SCREAMS POLICE BRUTALITY.

R&B singer Tank was tased and arrested outside the House of Blues in New Orleans early Monday morning (February 18) on several charges including disorderly conduct. However, Tank claims he was a victim of police brutality. The singer and Ira Dewitt, the CEO of Notifi Music Group, were headed for an afterparty for NBA All-Star Weekend at the House of Blues. When they began to walk into the direction of the club, they were blocked from doing so by cops, due to a shooting in the area. According to an eyewitness account by Ira, the police were rude, harassing both Tank and herself, before telling them they could not enter the area. In response, Tank told the policemen, "Why are you gonna be like that?" before walking away. Soon after, three policemen allegedly attacked the R&B singer and began using their tasers on him. "We started walking away," Ira said, "but they grabbed Tank and threw him against the wall. [The cops] bent one of his arms up and the other arm back and asked him to do something. Tank told them that he couldn't and before you knew it, there were three cops all over him... and they tased him."

Tank was arrested and booked, and was reportedly released on bail Monday.

One source told BallerStatus.com that several police officers were actually overheard making sexual comments about the woman after Tank was in custody. However, Julia Beverly, founder of Ozone magazine (and owner of the above photo of Tank in custody), added that "overall the police in New Orleans this weekend (in my experience) did a good job of keeping things safe without being overbearing."

The singer was coming off his first two Grammy nominations -- for Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B album for Sex, Love & Pain. While he did not win, he was excited about the nominations beforehand.

'BIRDMAN' FREE ON BOND AFTER MARIJUANA ARREST; RAPPER EXPLAINS HIS SIDE; DENIES BEING MARRIED TO 18-YEAR-OLD WOMAN.

Bryan "Baby" Williams, aka Birdman, is free on $1,500 bond one day after he was charged with possession of marijuana. The 38-year-old rapper and co-founder of Cash Money Records was released Wednesday from Sullivan County Jail in Tennessee. As I reported yesterday, Birdman was among 16 people in a rented RV that was stopped by cops for making an improper lane change. The move forced a tractor-trailer into the emergency lane on Interstate 81, according to authorities. Kingsport Police Cpl. Tim Horne said he could smell marijuana from inside the RV and found about a pound of marijuana in a trash can in the vehicle's kitchenette.

Explaining his side of the story to MTV News Wednesday, Birdman said: "We was on the bus. I was asleep in the back. Why they pulled us over, I don't know. The people are making the situation out worse than what it is. We got arrested for a misdemeanor amount of [marijuana] — we didn't have no pound. The police just found something minor in a garbage can the dog sniffed. We all got out on bond."

It was reported by some outlets (not EUR) that one of the people arrested with Birdman was an 18-year-old female who was described as his wife. Not so, he says. "I'm not married,” he emphatically stated. "Never! been! Married! Plus, that girl was 18! I don't get down like that! Plus, if I was married, why would I keep it a secret?" According to Birdman, the young woman is a companion of one of the members of his entourage.

The other 15 people in the RV were also charged with possession of marijuana, according to a news release from the Kingsport Police Department. They, too, were freed on bond Wednesday.

Birdman is currently promoting his new album, 5 Star G, which is due for release on Dec. 11. He said he's due back in court on March 18. "Hopefully all the charges will be dropped by then, and we won't have to go to court," he said. "But we good. Everybody is fine."
