TERRENCE HOWARD TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM, 'A LITTLE BIT MORE LIKE ME' THIS FALL.
I think Terrence Howard was bullsh!tting us three years ago when he said, 'It's hard out there for a pimp.' Now, I ain't too sure about dude's vocal capabilities and whatnot, but obviously someone thought enough of them to offer him a record deal. Who knew? The actor has reportedly landed a record deal with Columbia records and will release his debut album later this year. Currently there hasn't been any indication of what type of music he will crafted on his debut release but a label representative says, "The full name (of the project) is Terrence Howard Presents Me And The Band of Kings." The album is allegedly titled A Little Bit More Like Me. The release date has not been finalized yet, but is slated for this fall. “I wanted to produce and write. The only thing I didn't do was play all the instruments because I only play guitar, piano and some cello. But I brought in the most incredible musicians and left them in the room to do what they do, gave them complete autonomy, and they gave me gold. People always give you their best if you give them the room to give their best," Howard told Underground Online.Aside from his music, the 39-year-old, who was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his role as a pimp-turned-rapper in 2005 movie Hustle & Flow, is currently appearing in a Broadway revival of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and will be seen on the big screen in Iron Man this summer.

BORIS DOES BROADWAY; ACTOR/MODEL TO REPLACE TERRENCE HOWARD IN 'CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF.'
According to Broadway.com, actor-model Boris Kodjoe will assume the role of Brick in the Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof during a six-week-long movie-related leave of absence by Terrence Howard. Howard, who is currently in previews in Debbie Allen's production of the Tennessee Williams classic, will be out from April 15 to May 22 and will return on May 23. The limited engagement of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is now scheduled to run at the Broadhurst Theatre through June 15. Opening night is March 6. In addition to Howard, the cast of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof includes Phylicia Rashad as Big Mama, James Earl Jones as Big Daddy and Anika Noni Rose as Brick's unhappy wife, Maggie "the Cat," with Lisa Arrindell Anderson, Giancarlo Esposito, Count Stovall and Lou Myers. The Austrian-born Kodjoe starred in the TV series Soul Food and Second Time Around and has appeared in film such as Madea's Family Reunion, All About Us, Brown Sugar and Love and Basketball. He will appear in Screen Gems' Marauder, part of the Starship Troopers franchise, later this year. A successful Ford model in the 1990s, Kodjoe was named one of the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" by People magazine in 2002.

MOVIE CRITICS MAR 'THE PERFECT HOLIDAY' CALLING IT 'OVERPLOTTED' & 'GUARANTEED TO TURN YOU INTO A GROUCH.'
According to most critics The Perfect Holiday doesn't come close to living up to its title. Michael Phillips in the Chicago Tribune describes it as "overplotted and underwhelming" and lacking "any sort of cinematic personality." Queen Latifah gets top billing in the movie, but Ann Hornaday warns in the Washington Post: "This crass seasonal programmer features only enough of its nominal star to avoid being sued by bait-and-switched filmgoers." Rafer Guzman in Newsday dismisses it as "sexist, unfunny and guaranteed to turn you into a grouch." That is indeed what it turned Carrie Rickie of the Philadelphia Inquirer into. Her summation of the movie: "In the annals of Noel films so wincingly, gratingly, insultingly bad that a lump of coal would be vastly preferable."Well, I just finished watching the movie a couple of hours ago and personally, I kinda liked it. It could've been a bit better. It was the first movie I'd ever seen Katt Williams in where he didn't utter one curse word; and Charlie Murphy and Faizon Love had me rolling! However, in some scenes I wanted to reach through the screen and snatch that damn ponytail off the top of Gabrielle's head. Ol girl was sporting as if it was about to go out of style. And in other scenes (and I thought I'd never say this, but) it looked as if Morris hadn't been preserving his sexy as well as he should...and that is NOT the BUSINESS. But hey, I didn't have to pay to see it and chances are I'll never watch it again. So, oh well. You know? But it definitely didn't 'turn me into a grouch' like it did the critics. Geesh, it wasn't that bad.

THROWBACKS/NEW PICS: VIVICA IN ESSENCE MAG'S JAN. 2005 ISSUE; BEHIND THE SCENES OF 'CAUGHT ON TAPE' MOVIE.
Fox has been keeping busy lately. Besides starring along her new BFF Jessica Simspon, in Major Movie Star (slated for released in 2008, ex-Girlfriends co-star Jill Marie Jones' is also in this movie), Fox is also starring in Caught On Tape; the film, directed and written by rapper Sticky Fingaz. The 'plot' revolves around a little boy who uses the video camera he received as a birthday gift to spy on his mother's boyfriend who is plotting a crime. Although this film has been 'in production' since 2006, it still has no official release date. Did I mention that this film is labeled as a 'musical'? Excuse me: a 'hardcore musical.'
Tell me about it.
Did I also neglect to mention Or that this movie will also serve as Kevin Federline's big-screen (that's if it doesn't go straight-to-video first) debut? And can someone please tell me why do I feel like I have wasted entirely too much time on this blog entry?
Below and after the cut, check out the pictures of the cast and crew on the set. And is it me or is Bokeem Woodbine the most sterotyped ni99ah in Hollywood. I swear this dude stays playing crazy-ass criminals.
That is all.
