Last night, in my Monica post, I told you all that my best friend and I were discussing the lil dudes from A.B.C. (Another Bad Creation)--who should all be in their early-to-mid 20s by now--and wondering not only what they were up to now, but also how they look today. Hence this 'Whatever Happened To.....? post. Although I have discovered that they will be releasing a Where Are They Now? type DVD in the near future...hopefully. Here's a bit of background info for those youngin's who know very little or nothing at all about these guys. First of all, if you were a fan of New Edition, B.B.D. or Boyz II Men, then most likely you were a fan of A.B.C. as well. Michael 'The Biv' Bivins--one of New Edition's & B.B.D.'s (Bell, Biv, Devoe) founding members--struck commercial gold (and platinum) after discovering the lads in 1990. Bivins pulled double duty as the A.B.C.'s manager and producer. Oh and FYI: Before there was ever a clan such as The Murder Inc. Family or The Bad Boy Family, there was 'Boyz II Men, ABC, BBD/The Eastcoast Family.' --Boyz II Men's Motown Philly song.
Anywhoo, members of Another Bad Creation, who were all born and raised in Atlanta, consisted of five adorable tykes: Romell 'RoRo' Chapman, brothers Demetrius 'Red' Pugh and Marliss 'Mark' Pugh, Chris Sellers and David 'Dave' Shelton. Adrian G.A. (General Austin) Witcher served as the group's 'unofficial member. When they hit the scene in 1991, they hit it harder than a mug! The group's first album, Coolin' at the Playground Ya Know! spawned 2 top 10 hits, Iesha and Playground, both written by Bivins and Dallas Austin. The success of Coolin' at the Playground peaked at #7 on the Billboard charts and eventually went platinum garnering the guys the title as the first Atlanta hip-hop/rap group to reach platinum status in Atlanta. Unfortunately, Iesha and Playground would become the groups only 2 hits of their entire musical career. Two and a half years later, the group suffered the sophomore jinx something proper-like. Their second effort, It Ain't What U Wear, released in 1993, never came close to appearing on any Billboard chart.

Fast forward 13 years later. It's 2006 and the guys have re-grouped and formed their own independent record label, Another Bad Creation LLC. After releasing their all-rap comeback album, Grady Baby Compilation in May of 2006, the group soon found themselves reliving 1993 all over again. Do I need to tell you all the dismal outcome? In case I do, let's just say that if there was ever a thing such as a Junior Jinx, they'd be suffering from it. Grady Baby Compilation, which only held six tracks with only three members rapping on it and only four members on its album cover, never made its way to any album or singles charts. However at least one good thing emerged from the group's success and demise: in 2005, after years of trying to get themselves back on the right track financially, professionally and emotionally, the guys can now consider themselves record label owners. Wait, that is a good thing, right? Hell, I tried to find at least one good thing. Oh well.
So, where are the members of Another Bad Creation now? Who the hell knows! The last time I saw them on television, they were still anklebiters; and I haven't heard any new music from them since...uh...1992. Maybe they're out somewhere chilling with the dudes from that other 90s boy band called The Boys, who should all be over 30 years old by now! I'm just jiving. According to a video posted on youtube, the guys of Another Bad Creation will release their Where Are They Now? dvd. When? Again, the hell if I know! Until then, check out the video clip below of the guys talking about it.

Welp, that's all I got for you, Meek! :) And be nice once you see their most recent picture! LOL! I had to go and dig deep and all up and through one of my favorite messageboards for this one! Raise your hand if you think they've made a successful transition from boys to men. No pun intended. (click on pic to see its full image)
And below you all can check out pics of Michael Bivins with his son, Michael Bivins, Jr. and Ralph Tresvant at the A Midsummer Night's Magic celebrity and all-star charity basketball game in 2004. The guys of N.E. were honored at this event.
