Ever notice how Janet just glows when she's with Jermaine? Who knew?! Too cute! You can't tell me she isn't still head over heels in love with JD after 6 years together! That's why when I read Internet rumors that the two had secretly tied the knot over the weekend, I must admit I kinda believe it for a minute....or two. Well, that Internet rumor was just that: a rumor. Today Jermaine gave a statement to Us magazine regarding his rumored marriage to his sweetheart. Bless their hearts....Good news for Janet Jackson fans: when Miss Damita Jo marries her long-time boyfriend, music producer Jermaine Dupri, you'll hear about it. In response to a report in the National Enquirer that he and Jackson have eloped and secretly married, Dupri, 34, exclusively tells Usmagazine.com, "When Janet and I get married, everybody will know. It's not something I want to keep a secret. I'm going to promote it like a party!" Rumors began spreading like wildfire that the R&B odd couple got hitched last Saturday afternoon at a secret location, with only close family and friends in attendance.
If and/or when Dupri and Jackson make that major move it will be the first for him and third for her. Jackson was married to James DeBarge for a year, which ended in an annulment in 1985 and the marriage to second husband Rene Elizondo Jr. ended in 1998 after seven years.
Jackson, who more recently has been making news for her yo-yo dieting/weight issues rather than her music, is currently filming a starring role in the upcoming Tyler Perry comedy Why Did I Get Married?. With today's Dupri-denial, it looks like that's a question Jackson won't be asking in real life just yet.
