BLACKSTREET MEMBER, CHAUNCEY BLACK, JAILED WITHOUT BAIL ON FAILURE TO PAY CHILD SUPPORT, PROBATION VIOLATION CHARGES.

Authorities say Grammy-winning R&B singer Chauncey Hannibal is being held without bail in Virginia Beach City Jail on charges of grand larceny, failure to pay child or spousal support and failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge last September. Online records show Hannibal was scheduled to be sentenced then for contempt of court and violating terms of his probation.

Hannibal was known as Chauncey Black when he was a member of the group Blackstreet. He was extradited from Los Angeles to Virginia Beach Monday. Police had been looking for Hannibal since January 2007, when they issued a warrant for his arrest on a charge of grand larceny. He's accused of looting a house overlooking the Chesapeake Bay after he was evicted in July 2006. The owner filed a police report alleging that everything -- including the kitchen sink -- was missing or destroyed.

Hannibal, 39, declined an interview request.

The singer won a Grammy in 1997, but fell on hard financial times after Blackstreet split up and declared bankruptcy.
