LL COOL J. ON TITHING & URGING YOUNG BLACK MEN TO RECONNECT WITH THEIR ESTRANGED FATHERS.

Praise the Lord! LL Cool J. says he credits his successful career luck to the fact he pays 10 percent of his earnings to God. The rapper has been paying substantial amounts to the church for years. He says, "I'm paying tithes by 10 percent of the gross going to the church. This is the only thing that has taken my career from here to there. You're seeing the glory of God when you see my career. God judges the heart, so when you give, your heart gets judged."

In other Cool J news, the father of three is urging young single-parent black men to seek out father figures or risk facing a gang life of crime. The rapper insists reconnecting with his estranged father when his career was taking off helped him avoid the pitfalls of fame and adolescence, and he's convinced that fatherless teens are more likely to fall into gangs if they don't have a man in their family life. He tells Sister 2 Sister magazine, "In black culture in general, in African-American culture, the least discussed thing amongst men is the fact that they really wish they had fathers. There's a lot of single black women who did the best that they could and that's a beautiful thing, but they don't know how necessary a father is in a kid's life and how much guys miss that deep down inside. That's why they gravitate towards gangs. That's why they gravitate toward older guys who may lead them in a negative direction, because they just want to be embraced by a man."

Oh please. Tithing is such a misused doctrine in the church today. Christians were never ment to tithe. That is old testament. Besides, I am not going to put too much stock into what someone says when he takes his shirt off and causes women to lust.

One can tithe but that one must also bear fruit that show's my life is that one condusive to the scriptures in the Bible. Anyone can tithe but tithing doesn't make a person more spiritual as does helping out a needy person. tithing isn't the issue but how are we living our lives. Pumping garbage into the community is doing more harm than a person not tithing for many young people look up to figures as cool j. I don't see how God (notice the capital G) blesses an album like Exit 13 just beacuse someone tithes. People let's look at the facts of scripture. Yes we can judge as to where a person spends eternity but we can judge a person by the fruit one displays or grows on their tree of life. Here is my question for you: Do you see the fruit of a God fearing (respect) coming from the life of LL Cool-J? Do you think God cares more about Cool-J's tithe or the music that is leading people into a life of falsehood and degradation?

I did not even know LL Cool is a devout Christian? Even Mormons, and many Cults believe in paying tithes and doing good works to win approval from the god they worship.

God has given everyone a skill and talent. Some people just know how to use and market it better. Someone needs to tell LL Cool that he is not a Jew living under the Old Covenant but a Gentile living under the dispensation of Grace. Jesus paid in full what ever is needed.
After Jesus died on the Cross the terms and Conditions of the Covenant changed to a New Covenant of Grace. Grace comes from faith in the payment Jesus made for his body of believers.Grace means unmerited favor. It is the payment Jesus made that gives Christians access and favor with God. It is sad that Christians who command law keeping for favor with God do not have a concise revelation of what Jesus paid for on the Cross.

Tithe boasters have stolen the glory of the payment Jesus has made on the Cross and replaced it with their own works of tithing. Shameful!Acts 15:10 Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the (new Gentiles believers) disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?

Colossians 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of required ordinances against us, He (Christ) took it out of the way by nailing it to his cross.

Galatians 3:11
"So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life."

Hebrew 8:6
"But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises".

Hebrew 8:7
For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

Galatians 3:13
"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree"

James 2:10
For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

Galatians 3:10
All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law."

Romans 8:32
"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?"

Hebrews 7: 28
Moses' Teachings designated mortals as chief priests even though they had weaknesses. But God's promise, which came after Moses' Teachings, designated the Son who forever accomplished everything that God required.

2ND Corinthian 9:17 Each man should give as he has decided, not out of duty or pressure, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Acts 20:33 Paul the Apostle speaking- "I have coveted no ones gold or silver

Acts 20:34 "You know that these hands of mine have worked to supply my own needs and even the needs of those who were with me.

Only one Scripture had Jesus saying to tithe Matthew 23:23 He placed mercy over tithing but said to also tithe. Note that Jesus had not yet died on the Cross and was speaking to Jews still under the Old Covenant. Tithe Police should read Galatians 4:30 then get a clue Key on the New Covenant of Grace vs The Old Covenant of Mosaic Law!
By the way Abraham and Jacob voluntarily gave a tenth (tithe one time). This is not the practice of faithful tithing!
Support your Churches because you love & worship God for the payment Jesus made, Period!
