VH1 has picked up a new reality series, which gives a glimpse into the life of actor-comedian Eddie Griffin and chronicles how he juggles being a player and a family man at the same time. The show, tentatively titled Eddie Griffin: Going for Broke, is produced by the Grief Co., the same people behind A&E's Gene Simmons reality show, Gene Simmons: Family Jewels. The network has given an eight-episode order to the tentatively-titled project. Casting will begin in the coming weeks for a scheduled winter 2009 premiere.
Griffin's film credits include Double Take, Jason's Lyric. Undercover Brother, Dysfunkional Family and Norbit. His television resume is highlighted by the sitcom Malcolm & Eddie. Griffin is also the father of a four-year-old Autistic boy.
