JUST SO YALL KNOW: THIS IS A LONG (AND ENTERTAINING) READ! Can someone please be a darling of a sweetheart and kindly advise the owners of Mediatakeout.com to change their name from Red Snapper for taking the bait! LMAO! You'll understand what I mean once you finish reading this post.
Ask any not-easily-fooled blog reader, industry insider (such as tmz.com), or reputable and/or credible blogger about Mediatakeout.com and nine times out of ten, they'll tell you that Mediafakeout.com is known more for posting/creating 100% fake stories about today's hottest (and not so hot) black celebrities than true and credible ones. I'm convinced Karrine Steffans was referring specifically to MediaTakeOut.com when she spoke on the rumors that she's starting a rap career. Steffans claimed, 'sub-journalistic bloggers create and spread false information daily.'
So can you imagine the utter horror that soared all up and through MediaTakeOut.com's--the self-proclaimed number one and 'Most Visited Black Website in the World'--falsified, fronting and faking the font selves once they discovered that their 'exclusive' Lauren London and Jackie Long 'story' which had been emailed (CLICK HERE TO READ BOGUS EMAIL) to them by one of their 'loyal readers' was in fact a totally bogus story planted on LipstickAlley.com--a site in which I deem to be the 'Most Visited (and Credible) Website on the Internet'--by a longtime boardmember, as bait served up just for them to pick up, post and inevitably get blasted on! Did I mention that yours truly is also a proud member of LSA?

On Wednesday, December 19th, the boardmember posted the following story on LSA's messageaboard:

Before the boardmember could hit the 'submit' button, MTO took the bait, snatched it up and put their ownership on it before posting it on their website.

Mind you, just a few weeks ago, MTO is the same site who 'exclusively reported' that Serena had been knocked up by Jackie.
Soon after their posting, they were served with this notice of bogustry (that's one of my new words...don't hate! LOL!):
Finally, once they realized they'd gotten got, they posted this lame concoction to try and save face. Read highlighted text at the bottom of the screenshot:
**SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO THAT CLEVER-ASS BOARDMEMBER FOR PUTTING THIS TOGETHER; AND TO THE LIPSTICKALLEY CREW (WHICH INCLUDES YOURS TRULY) FOR SUPPORTING IT!***
READ MORE OF THIS STORY AFTER THE JUMP AND FIND OUT WHICH CELEBS LENT A HAND IN MAKING SURE THIS HOAX WENT OFF WITHOUT A HITCH!

Now, for those of you who don't know, ever since MediaFakeout.com first hit the 'Net, their claim to fame stems from their posting of 98% untrue stories about Black celebrities. I would list them, but there's too many to name. And when they not posting untrue stories, they're snatching them from various messageboards (specifically LipstickAlley.com) and other credible websites with the intentions of 'exclusively' claiming them as their own; the same can be said about their 'exclusive pictures' in which they take from websites, messageboards and blogs and paste their logo on them. What really put the lid on the jar is when they developed the nerve to add the following post script at the end of each of their exclusive articles: CLICK HERE TO READ
Up and coming bloggers, take note: when reporting a story, make sure you check, double -check then triple-check your sources. If you can't do that, never hesitate to print a retraction. It takes nothing away from you as a blogger. If anything, it makes you more reputable one. As for this particular story, I guess MTO's pride is what's keeping them from going their usual route of deleting a articles (that has proven to be true) from their database. Pretty soon, they'll be known as the blog who cried wolf.
Oh, uh, did I fail to mention that both Lauren and Jackie were in on this hoax to hogtie MediaTakeOut.com? Baby-bye! FYI: As for MTO's 'exclusive' about Kenya Moore getting married story....well, it's as false as that story on Beyonce & Jay-Z tying the knot in Paris.
Before I go, peep this video clip which has to be indicative of how MTO is feeling right about now.

Media Takeout is such a mess, I love these so called sources they have; the sad thing is radio stations use MO as sources as if they were Extra or somebody.
Hey Mrs. Grapevine! I totally agree with you 100%! That is really and truly the saddest part. It's bad enough that the folks who visit their site on a daily basis take whatever they read as gospel, but when media outlets such as the ones you mentioned do it, it makes it even more despicable. And that it not the business.
I was absolutely livid when Jet magazine wasted space in their magazine while featuring MTO as the number one Black website. They could've done everyone a favor by featuring blogs such as Crunk & Disorderly (what's up Fresh!), Concrete Loop and YBF. Jet lost so many cool points with me for that crap.
MTO is the same site who has ran at least 10 stories within the last 2 years claiming that Beyonce and Jay-Z got married.
I wouldn't be surprised if there are more than a handful of celebrities who have decided to sue their asses. Hey, if the white celebs can sue and win judgments against tabloids such as Star and the National Inquirer for defamation of character and whatever else, I'm pretty sure Black celebs can do it too.
BRAVO...y'all deserve a standing O for this one!! MTO is BS and everyone knows it...I'm just glad someone finally documented their BS!!!

MTO isn't the only blog who does that. I noticed that they (MTO) and Bossip run the same stories too. Those two sites are always posting a fake story beginning with 'Bossip has learned' or 'A loyal reader of Bossip...'
Yep, Bossip and MTO belong in the same category. That's just my personal opinion though.
FANTASTIC article!!! Now THAT'S how you report a story!! FACTS!! PROOF!!
I totally agree with you Rhonda Star! MediaFAKEout SUCKS!! Bossip SUCKS & I go there JUST to call them out on their bullish & laugh at them and many of their readers for being so simple. I doubt if anyone sues though. I mean really? Who takes them seriously other than the few illiterate visitors they continue to attract?
I'll be sure to post this on MediaFAKEout's community forums section :-) (if that's ok with you mrsgrapevine?)
