There's no truth to the rumor that Toni Braxton is battling breast cancer. Earlier this week, I read posts (with the National Enquirer as its source) on several messageboards claiming that the singer was not only dealing with the fact that one of her two young sons has autism, but that she had also discovered she had been diagnosed as late as last week of her unfound condition. The singer has since released a statement denying the rumors.The singer and Las Vegas showroom star has been dogged by rumors and published reports from various outlets that she had been diagnosed with the deadly disease. Braxton issued the following statement on Tuesday to “Access Hollywood”:
“There has been a rumor circulating that I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. After feeling something uncomfortable in my left breast, I went in for a screening. I was very fortunate that they did not find anything and I am in great health. However, I encourage women to take their annual tests and suggested precautions to prevent this disease that continues to affect so many women.”
The 39-year-old mother of two is currently starring five nights a week in her own Las Vegas show, “Toni Braxton: Revealed,” at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino.
