SIMON COWELL ON FANTASIA'S BROTHER'S 'A. I.' AUDITON: 'IT WAS FANTASTIC ...UNTIL HE STARTED SINGING. HE'S TERRIBLE!'

Simon Cowell was delighted when former American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino's brother auditioned on the reality talent show - until he heard his "terrible" singing voice. Ricco Barrino's audition on the current seventh series of American Idol was so bad, Cowell and his fellow judges Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul were convinced he couldn't be related to Fantasia. Ricco auditioned in Dallas with the gospel standard A Change Is Gonna Come. No doubt, talent runs through the Barrino blood (K-Ci and JoJo of Jodeci fame are cousins of Fantasia's), but sadly for Ricco, his time in the spotlight was brief. The 27-year-old High Point, NC, native was cut after his first call-back.

Cowell says, "He was dreadful. He can't sing. I think I am right in saying this from memory, he was terrible. I remember thinking, 'Oh, great! Fantasia's brother.' And it was all fantastic until he started singing and then we disputed the fact that he really was Fantasia's brother because he hasn't got his sister's talent."

Well, he may not possess his sister's singing skills, but his songwriting skills were evidently enough to get him signed to T.I.'s Grand Hustle record label. According to sandrarose.com, the self-proclaimed King of the South brought Ricco on to pen lyrics for his Grand Hustle artists including Young Dro and Alfamega. Ricco has already gained small town accolades with his ladies anthem, Bubble Gum.

NATE DOGG PARA;LYZED AFTER SUFFERING A STROKE OVER THE HOLIDAYS.

Singer Nate Dogg has been left paralyzed down one side of his body after suffering a mild stroke over the festive season. The Next Episode singer - real name Nathaniel Hale, the cousin of Snoop Dogg - was admitted to Pomona Valley Hospital in California last month (Dec 2007) following the cerebrovascular accident at his home on December 20th. But the illness has resulted in the 39-year-old being unable to move the left side of his body, and he is now recovering in an occupational rehab facility.

His representative, Rod MCGrew, tells MTV.com, "Time will tell everything, obviously. The doctor can only guess what the outcome will be. But based on situations with similar people his age, and based on his health, the prognosis is good right now." According to MCGrew, Hale did not suffer any brain damage from the stroke and his vocal chords have not been affected. MCGrew also took the opportunity to hit out at people who have made fun of the supposedly relaxed 911 call, which was posted on website TMZ.com earlier this week, adding: "I'm not sure what people are tying to glean from that tape. The diagnosis is what it is, and the prognosis is what it is: He had a stroke. The media wants to create something, but I'm not sure what the point is. If you had an emergency and someone was in your presence they would call 911. I'm not in a situation to see who is doing what, but rather tending to (Nate) and making sure he gets back on track."

HALLE PROUDLY FLAUNTS 'ETERNITY/COMMITMENT/PROMISE' RING GIVEN TO HER BY BOYFRIEND, GABRIEL.

Pregnant Halle Berry has sealed her commitment to boyfriend Gabriel Aubry by accepting his gift of a $10,000 eternity ring. The actress, 41, has previously revealed she has no desire to wed model Aubry after two failed marriages - first to former baseball player David Justice in 1992 and then to singer Eric Benet in 2001. Her second union ended in divorce in 2005. But Berry has been happy to show off her Cartier paved diamond eternity platinum ring from Aubry, a present from the 32-year-old to celebrate the upcoming birth of their baby.

According to In Touch Weekly the two lovebirds already think of themselves as a married couple, even without the legal document to prove it. "It's gorgeous. The diamonds aren't huge but they are perfectly cut and sparkle. Gabriel gave Halle the ring to symbolize their commitment," says one source.

Berry, who is due to give birth in the spring (08), has been spotted flaunting her new piece of jewelery at a Cartier event in Los Angeles earlier this month.

MORE DETAILS REGARDING R. KELLY'S RELATIONSHIP W/FMR. PUBLICIST'S DAUGHTER & WILL SINGER MAKE HIS ALLEGED SEXTAPE VICTIM HIS NEXT 'WIFEY'?

I intended to post this last week, but I totally forgot about it! LOL! Just so you all know, the blog post is pretty lengthy.

More details have emerged regarding R. Kelly's indiscreet relationship with his former manager's stepdaughter, Maxine Daniels, as well as brand new details regarding his current relationship status with the infamous teen (now 23-years-old) from his sex tape. I swear, the higher a monkey climbs, the more his ass show. Don't it? Just when you thought you knew someone...BAM, BAM!...they do something else to convince you that they're still nine cents short of a dime. I'll explain that later on in the story. Anywhoo, as most of us know, about five months ago (on August 28, 2007 to be exact), Regina Daniels, abruptly resigned her duties as R. Kelly's publicist and family friend of over 14 years after accusing the singer of 'crossing the line'. At the time, some folks speculated that the reason for her departure was due to R. Kelly physically assaulting her. Not true at all. "...I have prided myself on loyalty, respect and professionalism. It saddens me that I was not always shown those same courtesies during my 14 year tenure as Mr. Kelly’s publicist...there are some lines that should never be crossed professionally or personally. Mr. Kelly crossed a line that forever altered the scope of our relationship," Daniels said in her official public statement.


Regina and her husband, veteran music retailer, George Daniels, severed their personal and professional ties with the R&B singer--someone they considered as their son--after learning Kelly had been having a sexual relationship with their daughter, Maxine, 21 (Blogger's note: see photo on the right). Kelly, 41, and Maxine (who the singer once referred to as his 'little sister') had been seeing each other since last June. From the looks of things, Kelly placed all of his morals, loyalty to family and common sense to the side once he noticed how 'womanly' his 'little sister' had become while attending her 21st birthday party last April at Bar One in Chicago. For weeks, Kelly aggressively pursued her and according to reports, she was a willing participant. Soon after, the 'couple' began dating on the down low and in true SugarMac Daddy form, R-ruh began lavishing his brand new boo with expensive gifts: Gucci handbags, an iPhone (oooh, what a treat! I mean, really!), designer dresses, jewels and trinkets and whatnot. He even opened up his home just so that he could kick it with her and her sorority sisters of the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Needless to say, the girl is a grown ass woman who can date any man she wants to. No harm, no foul, right? Wrong. Well, sort of. I guess it depends on who you're asking. She couldn't have been too much of a grown-ass woman because she hid their relationship from her parents. As a matter of fact, while she was hiding...she was also lying.

Now, is that the business or what? But I digress. Anyway, Maxine--who had just broken up with her boyfriend before hooking up with Kelly--would tell her parents she was attending summer school Monday through Friday. What Regina and George didn't know was that Maxine would leave school on Thursdays to stay with Kelly before going home to visit them on the weekends. However, by July, Kelly and Maxine's courtship came to an end when Maxine felt she could no longer keep lying to her parents about her relationship with Chester...I meant Kelly. You would think her breaking things off with him wouldn't piss off the Pied Piper...but it did...but not for long though. What he did next boost his status up three notches on my Shit List...and that's a feat in itself considering the fact that he was already holding the number one spot! Think about it.

Even with his child pornography trial slated to begin in a couple of months, this dude still has the gray-haired balls to mess around with the same girl (no pun intended...well sort of...okay, not really...just a little bit...like a smidge of a little bit) from his infamous and incriminating sex tape. Yeah, you read it right. According to Jamie Foster Brown, her name is Rashana (Blogger's note: Rashana is not pictured in this blog post) and she is now 23-years-old. She also accompanied Kelly (along with his 10-year-old daughter, Joanne) on his recent Double Up tour. Kelly, who claims to 'love' Rashana and even goes as far as referring to her as his 'wifey,' has since moved her into his home once his wife Andrea (and their kids) moved out. No wonder she (Rashana) doesn't want to testify against him.

As far as where things stand with Kelly and the Daniels...well, first all, he had the nerve to be upset with Regina for giving him the silent treatment and leaving him to fend for himself. With his trial coming up, he's going to need all the emotional support he can get. It's just too bad that he betrayed and lied to, possibly, the only two people who ever had his back and believed in him the most. How you deceive and disrespect the same two people who taught you how to Step In the Name of Love? That, too, is not the business. Reportedly, George broke down and cried upon hearing the news that his daughter had been sleeping around with Kelly. And after George confronted Kelly and asked him for the truth, Kelly took the punk-ass route and proceeded to bitch up and began crying before swearing to George that he would never do anything like that because they were 'family.'

After the holy shinola hit the fan last November, George told EUR's Lee Bailey, "Bottom line is [R. Kelly] crossed a certain line with me and my wife that you shouldn't cross. I respect his talent. You can't deny he's a talented person. But beyond that, everything else is just gone." Brown says Kelly knew his relationship with Regina and George was over when George stopped receiving the tailor-made designer suits Kelly had been sending to him. Now, that's when you know you done f'ed up!

Regina is now back in the swing of things, doing what she does best. Just days after disassociating herself from R. Kelly, the 50-year-old publicist picked up celebrity clients Wyclef Jean, Young Dro and Fantasia. Bless her heart.

GINUWINE SUES RECORD LABEL FOR THE 2nd TIME IN 3 MONTHS FOR FRAUD & BREACH OF CONTRACT.

R&B star Ginuwine is suing his record label for breach of contract and fraud. The singer claims he was duped into signing a deal with former pal Michael Bourne's King Music Group, Inc. last year (07) - and has yet to see any of the promised $500,000 advance. Ginuwine - real name Elgin Baylor Lumpkin - signed a $1.75 million deal to record an album with the company, and then discovered there is no corporate record suggesting the label actually exists anywhere in New York, California, Florida or Tennessee.

This is the second time the Pony hitmaker has filed suit against King Music and Bourne; a similar breach of contract action resulted in Ginuwine and label bosses settling out of court in 2007. Now the singer claims Bourne defaulted on that settlement deal, and hasn't paid him what was agreed. He claims the contract breach has caused significant damages to his career and kept him from professional opportunities. In a statement, the singer's attorney Brandon Witkow says, "It is our belief that Mr. Bourne never intended to follow through with his and King Music Group's obligations under the Settlement Agreement. Mr. Bourné has continuously misrepresented his intent and ability to comply with his promises. As a result, Ginuwine has no other choice but to pursue further legal action to obtain compensation for his lost professional opportunities and other damage he has suffered."

Well, whatever the case may be, Ginuwine is still out there on the grind. I found several pics of the R&B star performing at the Troxy nightclub in London, England back in October. Unfortunately, there weren't any pics of him shirtless.

Well, expect the raunchy video for that song and many others to air on Uncle Luke's (real name Luther Campbell) new 24-hour music video website, tentatively called UncleLuke.tv. The website is distributed through Luke Entertainment Group (LEG), Campbell's multi-platform entertainment company. According to a press release, the newly launched portal (UncleLuke.tv) offers its visitors an extensive library of unique video content to watch, post, and download; and will carry musical content from Video Mix TV, an independent 24 hour music television network -- which streams hip-hop, reggae, R&B and indie music.

UncleLuke.tv was launched to rival other social networking platforms, but with a slant toward the hip-hop community, and will offer aspiring artists and entertainers a platform to gain visibility for their music. "Unlike most of the other social networking platforms, UncleLuke.tv will offer new artists, sports, never seen before videos and a myriad of unique content, including live streaming broadcasting," said Victor Nappe, Luke Entertainment Group's CEO. "We are looking to communicate, entertain and embrace the new media consumer through UncleLuke.tv. Video Mix TV and other outside entertainment media brands help us achieve that initiative and strengthen our goal of becoming leaders in the online programming space."

In addition to UncleLuke.tv, they have also launched LukeSports.tv, geared towards youth sports.

Harvey is featured on the cover of Jet magazine sans the too-good-to-be-true edged up, tapered high-top, low hair-afro he's become famous for. So, what motivated one of the Original Kings of Comedy to take this route? Age (and maybe a smaller bank account due to his recent divorce to his second wife, Mary--but that's another blog post for another time, so I'll digress).

Back to the new look: Harvey celebrated his 51st birthday today and to commemorate his self-titled 50 and Fly look, the disc jockey decided to hook up with 8 time Mr. Olympia, Lee Haney, not only to get his cock-diesel work-out on, which still needs some work--peep the pics of 'Mr. Hightower' donning his brand new bald head while sporting a black tank-top below--but to also launch his 50 and Fly campaign which he details in this week's issue of Jet magazine. Other than the fact that Steve mustered up the nerves to go bald, I really don't understand what all the other hoopla and whatnot is about. But to each his own. In the meantime and in between time, to all my Black men, Steve wants you all to know, that you too, can be 50 & Fly...or something like that. NEW PICS: CONTESTANTS FROM 'AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL CYCLE 10' SEASON

Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model will debut its tenth cycle and fourth season of the series which will air on The CW network beginning Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 8 PM. A few major changes will be implemented this season. For starters, the show will return to New York City after being housed in Los Angeles, California since Cycle 4. This cycle's theme has been dubbed Back to Basics and the entire wardrobe will be completely dressed by mega fashion house, DSquared.

Fans of the show will also notice a change on ANTM judging panel which has gone unchanged since Cycle 5. During the last nine cycles of ANTM, Tyra Banks has gone through many judges. She started in 2003 with Janice Dickinson, Beau Quillian, and Kimora Lee Simmons. It was no secret that Dickinson and Simmons did not get along during filming. Simmons left after season one as did Quillian. By the time season 5 rolled around, Banks seemed to have found the perfect combo. Since cycle 5, Tyra has judged with Nigel Barker, J. Alexander, and Twiggy. However, due to 'scheduling conflicts', supermodel Twiggy has been replaced by Czech supermodel Paulina Porizkova.

TIFFANY 'NEW YORK' POLLARD DENIES SEX TAPE; PLANS TO SUE WEBSITE THAT POSTED THE BOGUS VIDEO; SAYS, 'I WANT THEM TO SUFFER.'.

Those are not New York's big, anti-bounceable Granny Smith apples that appear in a sex tape allegedly featuring Tiffany Pollard, the star of VH1's hit reality dating show, I Love New York and an unidentified man. Pollard survived her sex tape drama with her usual moxie — and her new fiancé’s love and support. The I Love New York star is relieved and thrilled that MediaTakeOut.com yanked the grainy, out-of-focus, explicit tape from its website. “We understand that New York is now claiming that it’s not her in the tape,” the website says in an editor’s update. “In fairness to New York, the video has been removed.”

Says Pollard: "Do I strike you as the kind of woman who would have a sex tape floating around out there and not be standing by that tape? I'm nobody's role model," she says. "I have a trash-talking potty mouth, I do what I want to do, that's who I am as a person. If I had a sex tape, I'd say when I did it and who I did it with - I have nothing to hide. Nobody runs my world other than myself and whatever I do in this lifetime, good or bad, I will own it and I will not own that tape because it's not me. I’m happy they pulled it. As I’ve said again and again, it wasn’t me in that tape and this proved it." That doesn’t mean the ordeal was easy to endure. When a friend called the VH1 star on Sunday to tell her that the site had posted what it claimed was a sex tape of Pollard, she immediately turned to her Prince Charming — fiancé “Tailor Made” (a.k.a. George Weisgerber). “I told him what happened and he said, ‘I stand by you.’ He didn’t question me. He helped me relax about it.”

Not an easy feat, considering she “blew a gasket” when she learned about the tape. “I was floored,” she said. “I thought, ‘I have to clear this up.’ It saddened me as a woman and as a black woman. (MediaTakeOut.com calls itself ‘the most visited black website in the world.’) I feel violated because it’s not me. If that were me, I would stand by it. They crossed the line.” Pollard says she is considering legal action against the Web site that posted the tape. "I want them to suffer," she says. "It is not me on that tape and they're going to get what they deserve." (BLOGGER'S NOTE: Go for it, girl! Get him for everything he's got! LOL!)The site's managing editor, Fred Mwangaguhunga said yesterday in an e-mail that, "MediaTakeOut.com was told that the woman in the video is Tiffany 'New York' Pollard. And while we can't be 100 percent sure, it sure as heck looks like New York." Pollard says they are wrong.

Pollard says the woman on the tape, who does resemble her physically, is not her. "I am way more creative than that," she says of the woman's performance. She also says that viewers of I Love New York know that she has a recognizable Princess tattoo on her chest which is not visible on the sex tape.

BLOGGER'S NOTE: The alleged unidentified woman in the video goes by the name of 'LUV'. She's an amateur adult film 'actress' who sells her web cam personal sex videos online. According to her website, she 'enjoy performing for men and sexy women....' and 'making all your fantasies and fetishes come true.' She also boasts, 'There isn't anything that I won't do to try to fulfill your needs. Nothing is off limits.'

Besides the support she got from Weisgerber, who proposed on I Love New York 2’s Jan. 6 reunion show, she dealt with the scandal with her typical “New York” take-no-prisoners attitude. “I’m not going to let this (put) me in a state of being sad or feeling beaten up. I’m gonna be a big girl about it. I’m gonna stay strong.” Still, she adds: “It’s a disgusting thing to have to go through.”

Besides, Pollard says, having a sex tape these days is not such a bad thing. "Look at Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian, they have sex tapes and it catapulted them into the limelight," says Pollard, who has never been shy about her own sexuality or her quest for fame. A sex tape today does not equal disaster. If I did have a sex tape, I wouldn't deny it."

BOW WOW DISMISSES BOGUS RUMOR OF HIM SPITTING IN CHRIS BROWN'S FACE; SAYS, 'THAT'S A SISSY ACT.'

Rapper Bow Wow has laughed off reports he clashed with Chris Brown after spitting on the R&B teen heartthrob. The 20-year-old hip-hop star insists reports the two tourmates clashed over the incident are ridiculous. Bow Wow, real name Shad Moss, is alleged to have lost his temper while onstage in Dallas, Texas on Saturday (12Jan08) after experiencing technical problems. Local reports suggested the young rap star stormed offstage shouting at Brown's staff and accusing the singer's management of attempting to sabotage his show. Then, when Brown tried to calm Bow Wow down, the rapper allegedly spat in his face, according to a particular non-credible website who deems themselves as the number one Black celebrity entertainment news/gossip blog on the Internet.

But Moss insists he would never disrespect Brown like that. He tells MTV.com, "I just got off the phone with Chris. My mom called me and told me about the rumor. I called him and told him, and he started laughing. We was dying (with laughter). Anybody who knows me or anybody who's been around me knows I'm not that kind of person... A wise man once taught me, `The most vicious thing you can do is spit on somebody.' It's just a rumor. It's a big rumor. I would never do that. That's not being a man, that's a sissy act."
